Part three of "improve the result of last season's equivalent fixture which we lost" (catchy) arrives in an early kick off on Saturday. We upgraded the Saints loss to a win and the Chelsea loss to a draw and now we face a Wolves team who beat us 2-0 at the THS last season in a frustrating match where we gifted them two goals and then spurned chance after chance to score even one goal ourselves. Wolves barely won towards the end of last season have yet to win this term. Indeed they were lucky not to have lost both of their games after Sa saved Mitrovic's penalty last weekend to chisel out a point against Fulham. Their team look woefully short of goals with Jiminez currently injured while we are scoring at an average rate of 2.7 goals a game in our seven matches in May and August and are unbeaten in that timeframe as well. We have proven to be tough to beat despite being behind in both matches and our squad strength is such that new boys Sarr and Spence couldn't even get on the bench on Sunday. It all points towards a positive outcome on Saturday and a return to the top of the Premier League. I'm not saying it will be easy but I just cannot see how we won't bag three points in this one. We owe these guys big time and they are gonna get it! Tottenham Hotspur 3 Wolverhampton Wanderers 0. COYS!

Since they got promoted in 2018 our record against them at home is 1W 3L. Somewhat of a bogey team.

That win was with Ryan Mason so may as well stick him in the dugout on Saturday.

I expect to see Perisic starting, and maybe even Richarlison, Doherty, Bissouma and Lenglet - but not in reaction to the Chelsea game.

Given how the pre-season unfolded - disrupted for Perisic, Doherty, Bissouma and Lenglet, and Richarlison's suspension against Soton - I think the plan would have been to go with the known players v. Soton. Then, given that they played well, stick with that team, who understood Conte's tactics v. Chelsea. (You can't have Sess play that well against Soton, and then bench him for the next shiny thing who is coming off injury...you have to show confidence in him).

3rd game was always the first game to expect some rotation, and bring other players into the mix. The one caveat is now Conte's suspension from the bench. His instinct might be to stick with players he knows and trusts when he can't be on the touchline yelling at them.

Still, I think Perisic will be introduced, and Doherty to start against his former team. The others might have to wait a game or two to get into the XI. But, I am sure Conte wants them all feeling like they belong in the XI so it will happen soon.
I think this is fair. In all honesty only playing once a week, the players who finished last season so strongly had those spots and it was their spot to lose. It was a poor performance all round really against Chelsea and so Conte now has reason to start rotating in to find his best XI. As you say I don't see wholesale changes either with maybe 2 being introduced into the starting line up at a time. I think I'd start with Bissouma and Doherty personally, seeing how well Sess did against Southampton and how he had a much harder task at the Bridge, but that's just nit picking on my part.

Fair play to Hojbjerg for his effort, but Bissouma needs to come in and show what he can do for this team. Same for Royal and Sessegnon, great work ethic and commitment, but we really need to see our wingbacks overlapping and crossing the ball in properly. Hoping Doherty can do that, with Perisic clearly no 1 choice on the left. Otherwise we might see Spence in the next short while because I don't think Conte will be happy without supply from the right. With Romero out, Sanchez will have to come in, but I still reckon we need to see how Lenglet goes in the prem:
Lloris
Sanchez Dier Lenglet
Doherty Bissouma Bentancur Perisic
Kulusevski Kane Son

I can’t see him changing half the team mate. 1 maybe 2 max.
Wouldn’t surprise me to see the same 11 in all honesty.

Want to see Perisic & Doherty starting
Thought Royal was decent against Chelsea. The weaknesses were Davies and Son, with less than convincing performances from Sess and Hojberg.

I’d be inclined towards Perisic coming In with Son, Davies and PEH having enough credit in bank to start but they need to pull their socks up as Ricarlison, Lenglet and Bissouma waiting in the wings for their opportunity.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Richy for Son.
I’d be stunned.
Conte isn’t going to drop a world class player because he’s had a couple of off games. He’ll want to play him into form.
My guess is Richy will get starts when European and cup games start up. Not necessarily for those games but for the EPL games before or after. I think he’s been bought for rotation, injury cover, or If the form of our front 3 becomes a long term thing.

Yeah - got tickets for this match - no bloody idea how I'm getting there yet.

Are all trains not running or just on certain lines?
Try NR journey planner , does depend where you are travelling from, some routes are running.

Or TFL journey planner , e.g at the moment showing Cheshunt to WHL as operating on Saturday..

We will probably stick with the same team for a few more games just to get things going, but I would like to see more constant rotation this season.

I don't want to see us run the first 11 (or so) players into the ground and then change the full team. The players we have on the bench are good enough to come in for a run of games, or just to give a player a game off. Small constant changes that hopefully keep some consistency from one game to the next

Might even see Perisic start with Sess coming on later , he certainly gives options being two footed , decent corner taker plus long throw into box another bonus . Richie will almost certainly get more minutes if things not going to plan. PEH seems to be Conte's preference but maybe Biss in for Rodrigo or to get at least 30 minutes again pattern of match will dictate.
