Great news that Kulu is back and given other injuries, you’d think he should go straight into the starting XI. A midfield 3 of Hojbjerg, Bissouma & Bentancur, with Kane & Kulu up top is strong on paper - but unfortunately doesn’t offer any pace in behind, which is how Liverpool can be got at on counter. Hence Conte’s concern that Lucas be available, I guess.

Given our injuries, here's how I'd line us up -- which is why I'm not a football manager:

Lloris
Dier - Lenglet - Davies
Doc - Bentancur - PEH - Sessegnon
DJED - Kane - Perisic

A win and we go 13 points clear of them. Even for a team like Liverpool that seems to big a gap to close

Defending deep and holding Liverpool first and possibly second half is possible if the players don’t over think it and just play with spirt and confidence. Defenders and MF have helped out with goals of late so it’s time for Kane to be our main man tomorrow. All pundits giving Liverpool the result and soma a draw. Let’s see what happens and not feel we have lost this before we KO.

They conceded so many early goals. If there's any game to go full pelt from the start it's this one

I know he is playing in pain but if these stats are correct for this season then Lucas really shouldn't be starting against Liverpool, one shot in 6 appearances ????? Surely Gil who is fit would offer more.

Bryan has one shot in 10 appearances in his career...

There are a couple of ways that this match should differ from recent ones. First, it will be a meeting between two sides that have a chronic, almost wilful tendency to concede the first goal. Who will crack first? And what difference will it make?

Second, we have been collecting points by staging second half comebacks against sides that are visibly less fit than Spurs. That won't be true of Liverpool. Most of them can run all day. Although it will be interesting if they start with the slightly superannuated selection of Milner and Henderson, neither of whom is quite as relentless as he used to be.

Or, Perisic. Even if we play a midfield 3. I’d rather Ivan partner Harry. He’s tenacious and smart. A better passer. More technical when receiving the ball and better at protecting it.
