Welcome to the Spurs Vs Liverpool Match Thread! COYS!

We want to bring the joy back into match days as these threads have just become full of over the top from at least a handful of posters. While we understand and have the same frustrations on the team and the performances the constant beating on the same players for just being picked is tiresome the same with going over how we didn't get more players in during the transfer window. We would rather not limit peoples access to this thread, so please before you hit post just read your post back...

STREAMING SITES

We cannot allow the posting of links to Streaming sites/apps and as a result of that do not allow posts asking for them as they invariably result in someone posting a link. Please do NOT hint at having, post or ask for links to streaming sites. The latest 'clever' way around this is to drop hints. That'll have to stop too I'm afraid as again, it results in people posting links.

Literally watching their game against Leeds on MoTD now. We need to come out the blocks and hustle them from the 1st second. If we can do that then they are definitely there for the taking.

If we try and soak up pressure and hit them on the break then I don't think it'll work.

TAA is having a mare of late so we need to target him, their midfield is the worst its been the last few years and they are missing Diaz.

I don't think we'll have a better opportunity to beat them.

Liverpool have been playing poorly and rightfully sitting in mid-table. Something's not right with them and they need a boost.

Guess what happens next?

This is exactly what worries me most. It seems to have become our 'modus operandi' of late, especially in first halves. If we don't wake our bloody selves up as soon as the first whistle goes, we might struggle to impose ourselves on to them, which is exactly what we need to do. Bully them. Hassle them. Chase the ball and keep the ball far better. They may not have Diaz available but they've still got Salah, Nunez & Firmenio so our defence is going to have be right on its toes from the off.

We can beat them but we need to shake ourselves up and get far more aggressive.

The crowd will respond if we start fast. It sets the tone.

If we sit off and start slowly and they grow into it the atmosphere will be more subdued.

Surely Conte understands this

Good time to play them at home, but they will raise their game for this. Would be more confident if Kulusevski was playing. Annoyed me so much thinking today that he was injured while on international duty..(or was he? Don’t remember)
Still think we can and should win.

You'd hope so. Familiar scenario with a major rival looking for a result to kick start their season. Just for once, could we please start the game as if we want to win it.

Maybe the crowd shouldn't turn so quickly then? Need them behind the team from the first whistle to the last, and that is especially for when we play it around the back. Our fans get frustrated too easy and too quickly. That doesn't help the players if it is a slow start. Of course I would love a fast start, but if it doesn't happen the crowd can't get on their backs straight away.

Go 3-4-3 with Gil at RWF if Kulu isn't back, and bloody go at them. So many mistakes in that team right now. There for the taking.

No fucking about here, get at them right from the off, they're not playing well at the moment so this one is definitely winnable.

Need to win a big game. Haven't won one since the home NLD.
Haven't had a big home game since the NLD to be fair either.

We would be 13 points ahead of Liverpool should we beat them, would be an absolutely massive result.

He eluded to this in his post-match interview. He was asked about the slow start and replied something along the lines of 'I don't know why we do this.' This leads me to believe its not deliberate!

Indeed but can't always rely on winning the home games. Need to win some on the road. We can't assume that we'll win the home games after losing the away ones. Not to say we can't do so mind, atmosphere should be electric for these big games.
