Cheers for the info chaps, doesn't really help meunderstand who the starting line up will be next season though.
Will Bale be left back with Modric/Dos Santos in front and Gilberto on the bench? Will Ekoto (been so long can't remember how to spell his name) finally be put down? Has Dawson/Kaboul any future at the club? Did Jenas/Lennon do enough to warrent a starting place. Who's going to be the GK.

I don't think I've ever seen such an overhaul at Spurs. The difference between August 07 and August 08 will be emense. Hope that we can gell and that it is all for the good.

It will be the real test of Ramos.

His players, hist tactics. It is up to him now to create a balanced team from, what I beleive, will be the most talented squad we have had in years. I do however believe he needs a least two players. A central defender and DM. Given he likes flexible players (not in the way Wenger dooes ) he will no doubt by at least one player who can do both jobs. A goalkeeper is also a possibility but I still think Robbo can make a strong return if he gets his head right.

I don't understand the fuss over Hargreaves. No better than Malbranque in terms of workrate and Carrick is much better on the ball.

Would quite like Essien but the chance of getting him is very slim.

I personally don't think Berba will go this Summer so upfront we're sound. Not sure who we should go for as a Ledley back up.

A GK is needed obviously. McGregor probably being the most likely.

His tackling and positioning

Top-quality DM are most probably the rarest commodity in the footballing world, which makes them so much sought-after and thus expensive.
Totally forget Essien. 1) Chelski won't sell him, 2) if they did he would cost like 30m+ and earn 100,000 + 3) he would not join Spurs.
There are rumours that Barca, after signing Seydou Keita, are willing to let Yaya Toure go. Would love him at Spurs - but doubt very much the truth of this rumour; both him and Keita could easily fit together in the same team anyway. What amazes me is that Spurs, in summer 2006, instead of signing Yaya (he eventually signed for Olympiakos) decided Zokora was a better choice!
Real M may - emphasize may - be willing to sell Mahamoud Diarra, who's not been a regular this season. 23-24m has been quoted as asking price.
Gennaro Gattuso would be great as well. But not very realistic.
Miguel Veloso is only an understudy to Petit at Portugual, so can he be that good and worth 23m? Then there are Gokhan Inler, Pablo Palombo, Jean II Makoun, Barry (who will end up in Liverpool), Xavi Alonso (Juve next), Alou Diarra, Lassana Diarra, Michael Johson (either Liverpool or stay at Citeh for much more than Spurs can pay him), Hernan, Loic Perrin, Lucho Gonzalez, Clement Chantome.

Frings was awsome last night, I'd cream if he came to the lane. I think my top choice would be Toulalan but I doubt he'd leave Lyon for a team without CL.

for the first time i think ever bbc gossip doesnt have anything spurs related, pretty strange!

It's definately strange. After signing two creative players, I expect (hope) rumours of a DM to start surfacing soon.

That's what I'd like to see but with an upgrade of Jenas instead.

It's not really on the flanks though - it would be a narrow midfield with Bale and Hutton providing the width.

like a Milan type 4-3-1-2

Hutton----Woody-----King-------Bale
-----Jenas----Appiah----Zokora-----
--------------Modric----------------
----------Eto'o-----Villa/Silva-------

;-)

A bit like Arsenal have done over the recent years with the likes of Hleb and Rosiksy.

Oh, so more like a 4-1-2-1-2

Hutton----Woody-----King-------Bale
--------------Appiah---------------
-------Lennon-----------Jenas------
--------------Modric----------------
----------Eto'o-----Villa/Silva-------

Replace Appiah for your preffered CDM like Gattuso etc...

However we play we still need a GK which the ITKs have been quiet about.

Storts/ Dan pls shed some light on the GK front (if possible)

Michaelden you havent included Giovanni in any of your teams? Im just hoping for Capel/DCM/GK and possibly another CB to play rotation with King & Woody. Then I feel the first team is sorted (Im assuming Berbs stays otherwise we will need another forward)

I see GDS swapping with Modric from a left position to a CAM. So whoever is out there swap with them.

Any new DM or GK links? It's worryingly quiet on those 2 fronts.

Yeah, I agree.

I wonder if IOMLS will know if any of the following have been linked to us: -

Perotta
De Rossi
Gattuso (more recent stuff)

or even J Zanetti

DMs who we realistically have a chance of getting I would say are:

Veloso
Palombo
Ernst
(all of which we know are on the shortlist thanks to Dan Ashcroft)

Others I would look at are:

Toulalan - unlikely but worth asking
Sebastien Kehl - I'm a big fan of his but he's just signed a new contract
Makoun - we have been linked and looks likely he'll move this summer
Alou Diarra - havent watched much French footy but he's in the France squad so must be doing ok
Demichelis - quality anchorman, not sure if Bayern would let him go
Xabi Alonso - if we high-jacked Juve's bid that would be awsome

The most important thing is that we get someone who does the things on the pitch which JJ and Modric wont do. This way they'll have the freedom to do what they do best.

De Rossi would be amazing. He's a real Roman though isn't he? Can't see him ever leaving Roma.

hopefully none of those 4. gattusso i passed his sell by date. de rossi is a common thug, a neanderthal of joey barton proportions. perotta is a complete prima donna and J Zanetti, wonderful though he has been, is about 90.

Seriously though we could do with a hard bastard. We havent had one since Davids. Obviously Barton's a knob and I wouldn't want anyone like him, I didnt realise De Rossi was that bad.
