who are our candidates for DM ?

I agree there doesn't seem to be a great deal of DM's out there at the moment, what with Veloso being basically priced out of a move as well know, no wonder there is a lack of ITK in that area.

Most good, experienced DM seem to be getting a bit old, but i would have though that either Edmilson or Senna from Villareal would be available.

villareal are in next seasons champions league having finished second in la liga with senna as their lynchpin, and senna has gone to the euro's with spain (he's been nationalised). edmilson is just plain useless

How about DZ?? Most people agree that he did very well in the disciplined DM role. Most people thought he was much improved after Ramos' arrival, so why not see how Ramos does with him in the off-season? Failing someone really special becoming available and realistic i think DZ could be the boy; potentially world-class :wink:

De Rossi would be such an improvement on any DM we've had since Davids' first season.

Thug or not, this kid had been performing at the very highest level since he was 18 - there was a stage about 4 years ago where he was unsettled and claimed he's be up for a move to the prem. But since then he's fully established himself in the italy team and is second only to Totti as one of Roma's own boys. Not a chance of getting him at the moment!

He would be awesome, imagine having him in the dressing room when away to Ar5ena1, would instantly fill me with more optimism.

Perhaps concerned about the Robbie Savage comparison, Cana has recently cut off his flowing locks and gone for the skinhead tough guy look. But seriously, Cana really does have a lot more skill than Robbie Savage, plus a lot more character (club captain at OM)

Edmilson's recently igned for Villareal on a bosman so we wont be getting him, I think he's too slow for the prem as well. A strong DM and GK have go to be our priorities now, I hope we get them signed soon so they've time to settle before the season starts. Judgng by Veloso's comments I think he might be out of reach, we could do with more experience as well. I think the one of the germans might be the best bet, they always seem to produce good DM's

to be honesy guys, i think we may be overlooking zokora, if we tell him to simply sit back, work like a horse (he has a good engine) and tackle and distribute like fuck he could be the man.

I'm sorry but no, surely to be a world class player you have to be able to pass to your team mates? IMO Zoko is an awful footballer, good athlete, awful footballer. I'd be dissapointed if we couldn't find better.

He's shown nothing in 2 seasons to suggest he can be 'the man', why waste another season on him? squad player yes, 1st 11 not for me

Agree that Zokora has been given his chance and has come up short, squad player - Yes, top 4 1st teamer - No.

The more i read this, the more pissed off i get with Chav$ki. They have Makele, Mikel and Essien. Ok Makele is looking a bit old now, but both Mikel and Essien are two of the best looking DM's around at the moment.

Palombo looks like a decent player.
