The games against Benfica for the Portuguese cup were the tipping point that made me believe he could be successful here. He single-handedly won the elimination for Sporting. In the second leg he pulled out an amazing performance, one of the best that I have seen in the Portuguese league in a...
cause the €65M included bonus and at least one of them is unrealistic according to the Portuguese media. I highly doubt that they would reject a plain €65M offer.
I guess that he would take Eriksen's spot. he has the ability to play deeper, in fact Sporting got him to replace Adrien Silva (in a slightly more offensive role) but he ended up playing closer to Bas Dost, but don't expect him to be like Modric.
yeah, but Record says that one particular goal is extremely difficult to achieve. I'm guessing that they would accept something like 55+10-15M (in realistic targets).
According to Record, Sporting rejected €65M (including variables).

ok. I was answering to your comment "lacks defensive discipline". I don't know Lo Celso that much but defensive wise (excluding giving the ball away) BF isn't worst than Coutinho IMHO.
Regarding "gives the ball away" too much, keep in mind that, as you mentioned, Sporting is a one man show...
I agree that his stats from last season are inflated cause he took the role of star player, but he doesn't behave as a diva on the pitch. defensively, he works a lot for the team and I disagree that he lacks discipline.
Besides the inflated stats/role my major concerns are the lack of 1 vs 1...
Sporting would be mental to accept something near €30M in the current market. As reference, transfermarkt rates him at €55M.
He was very good in 2017/2018 and brilliant in 2018/2019, in both he was awarded player of the season. it's not just a player who had a brilliant season.
Now that I'm reading the article again, I might have pulled the trigger too fast :)
The first sentence says that Manuel Fernandes (a guy that has inside info about Sporting) is sure that BF will go to utd.
However, when they quote him, it is not 100% clear if he means that BF will go to utd...
In 2018/2019 he played as offensive mid with a lot of freedom. it's normal to see him deep, making runs behind the defence, crossing, finishing, etc
Anyway, it seems that he goes to utd...
The fans love him, but they think that losing him is inevitable.
Keep in mind that BF hasn't played that much in the national team. It seems that he made his way into the starting eleven recently but not in the same position that he's used to. Fernando Santos is still looking to find the best...
I have seen lots of games of BF. I agree that he is not the type of player that orchestrates the teams play from deep; or maybe better, at Sporting that isn't his primary role.
Positive:
* highly competitive
* amazing work-rate
* great stamina
* very mobile
* very good long range...
there is a sell on clause of 100M€. Judging from what I'm reading at the portuguese press, I don't think that Sporting will sell BF for much less than 70M€.
According to the newspaper Diário de Notícias the deal is done (4M£) and should be formalized soon.

I think he is a very good signing :) He has the potential to be a really complete center back. It is one of those that you could imagine playing for Barcelona in the future :) he knows how to use his feet to play football :p At the moment, I think he lacks aggressiveness and he needs to improve...
Most of Sporting fans rated Dier higher then Ilori. At the time, I thought that both were top class material but Ilori had a litle bit more potential :)
