Pellegrini has been quoted saying 9 wins (i.e. finsihing on 74 points) will be enough for Man City to win the title.
If Leicester win just 6 of the 10, they'll be on 75. And they are averaging over 2 points a game.

As excited as I am by our position in the league I've blocked my mind as to whether we could win the league or not as it would be so uncharacteristically Spurs for us to do so. I've supported the club through thick and thin for the last 58 years and 10 years back made a promise to my eldest daughter, whose family also support Spurs, that I would fly from Guatemala to Atlanta, pick them up and then continue on to England for the final match of the season should we appear likely to win the league. Last night she skyped me and let me know they're arranging work schedules just in case the impossible came to be.
Maybe there is a God in heaven after all.

Someone on coys matched up the remaining games from the results of last season and it had us third. I think that's where we might finish. April is a hard month.

Well...8 games left and my predictions for the first two of our last ten games were correct.

Looking at the next four games, we have:

Bournemouth (h)
Liverpool (a)
United (h)
Stoke (a)

I've predicted seven points from that lot (which I think would be a good return), but we're certainly capable of nine or more. Every game is going to be massive now, so we need to be clinical against Bournemouth (who are playing very well at the moment). Win that and I think we can breath a bit in terms of the CL.

Not expecting anything from the Liverpool game, so any points at Anfield will be a bonus in my opinion.

United is always a very tough game, and it's been years since we beat them at the Lane in the league. Given the way the two teams have played, we have to make sure we blitz them. Absolutely massive game for us.

Worried about Stoke, but I'd take a point.

If Southampton can win at Stoke, we can

Also suspect we'll go weak on Thursday, meaning we have time on our side. Fair enough predictions from the original ones done fella, I have the same in my head.

We'll need at least 9 from those four to have a crack at winning the league IMO.

Probably.

We have must win games against: Bournemouth, West Brom, Southampton, and Newcastle. Those are the banana skins that we need to beat.

The other four games - Liverpool, United, Stoke, and Chelsea - are the ones where we will have difficulties. It's an odd one because on paper we'd be favourites against all of them, but realistically that's where points are likely to be dropped. Pick up 6 points from those games (and win all four of the games listed above) and we'll have a great chance of winning the title.

Christ it's nerve-racking! We HAVE to beat Bournemouth at the Lane. Simply have to. That would take the pressure off the Liverpool game. For me it's a bit of a free fixture (or it will be of we beat Bournemouth). Any points would be a big bonus.

I agree, but I've tried to be realistic with my predictions, and that's a tough place to go.
Yup. Most fixtures will be tough. Bournmouth next is very tough. I don't think we should all be thinking a loss at Chelsea. Yes we have a bad record, but everyone has beaten them this year and they are completely dogshite with nothing at all to play for

agree. Guess it's about getting as many wins as we can. Draws just won't do it. Without stating the obvious, we will be better with a defeat and a win than two draws. Just got to get those wins

I was leaning on the side of negativity with my original predictions. No reason we can't beat Liverpool or Chelsea given how we've been playing, but they're our toughest away games remaining.

I think we have a chance of the title, but we'll still have done brilliantly to finish in the top 3 (even if it might initially feel like a missed opportunity).

Just loving the experience of being at this point in the season and every match being significant.

Yep completely agree. Just think even been realistic we should get something from Chelsea. Liverpool I dread. Stoke I think we can do. Maybe Southampton at home worries me! Good team. Guess I'm saying how on earth do you predict. Is why I think Leicester really have easier run in. Love the fact we are talking about his with 8 games to go though! We have to cheer on every team vs Leicester now. Every point vital!

Problem is, we seem to be up against it with soo many teams wanting to beat a team like spurs as opposed to leicester. I think we can get a result at liverpool but that game will be a lucky dip with us being at our best. Cant wait to play these games but i hate the 2/3 hours beforw they start. I get the cold sweats and cant bare it.

Like most now, i wish the dortmund game on thurs didnt exist!

The way this season has gone, we could lose to Bournemouth then beat Liverpool, United, and Chelsea. Crazy really. It's games like today against Villa, and next week against Bournemouth - games we are expected to win - that do me in! I can relax a bit more with the tougher fixtures because years of disappointment have trained me to have low expectations.

Still loving this team. They're aiming for the stars and are looking like ones too.

True, and I agree with you.

However, one thing in our favour is that a lot of the teams we're playing don't really have much to play for, making it harder for them to pump themselves up to the levels necessary to match our pressing game.

We've just got to keep doing what we can and hope at some point the pressure will get to Leicester.

If they could string together a couple of draws or loss/draw I am sure the pressure would ramp up on them.

We keep hearing from the dippers about what a magician the fat Spanish waiter is, well hopefully he can show us what magic he's performed in those extra training sessions tomorrow.

come on the Toon!

The problem is where is our pressing game? It's been getting harder and harder to spot.

I wouldn't say that.

It's dropped off a bit, sure, but it's there.

Today we were closing Villa players down very well...surrounding them and suffocating their ability to play. Not at the heights that we've seen, but it was still evident.
