I'll be amazed if we see N'Jie play this season tbh. He didn't play much when he was fit and even Son isn't getting much game time.

Agreed. Maybe off the bench a couple of times, or towards the end if we've secured the title or an official table position.

Verts will NOT be walking back into the side imo. It's Wimmer's place to lose at the moment.
On the contrary. Wimmer's been good, and has gotten some great experience for next season, but Vertonghen will play at the earliest possible time he is fully fit. He is simply better and we are fighting for titles.

I agree to an extent. A bit of pace off the bench is a nice option to have. We haven't seen anything of him though to suggest he's going to return and win us the league.

I think he'll be straight back in when he's fit enough. Wimmer's done nothing wrong at all and has been immense but the connection between verts and toby gives Verts the edge in the run-in.

I think his pace in behind coming on as a sub late in the season could be really useful. No individual player will win us the league but as a squad with different options it definitely increases our chances.

On the subject of Wimmer, when he was bought one of the stats that was really good was his lack of defensive errors. I think he actually makes less mistakes than Vertonghen. I don't think Vertonghen is a dead cert to come back in and start, he will definitely need a sustained period to get some sharpness back. I would also factor in Toby possibly needing a break at some point and I'm sure everyone will be accommodated.

But.... Would you want to break what is currently a pretty solid partnership, especially when Wimmer's not really put a foot wrong?
Swings and roundabouts I guess.

Probably.

We have must win games against: Bournemouth, West Brom, Southampton, and Newcastle. Those are the banana skins that we need to beat.

The other four games - Liverpool, United, Stoke, and Chelsea - are the ones where we will have difficulties. It's an odd one because on paper we'd be favourites against all of them, but realistically that's where points are likely to be dropped. Pick up 6 points from those games (and win all four of the games listed above) and we'll have a great chance of winning the title.

Christ it's nerve-racking! We HAVE to beat Bournemouth at the Lane. Simply have to. That would take the pressure off the Liverpool game. For me it's a bit of a free fixture (or it will be of we beat Bournemouth). Any points would be a big bonus.

definitely this, I felt physically ill before the Arscum game, but always am nervous and have been in the 42yrs I have been strongly been following Spurs, but for 3 days leading up to the game I was struggling to eat. I even booked an appointment with the doctors lol, as I wasn't sure if it was nerves or just the norm this last 17 months of having health probs. once the game was over food started to disappear off the plate, so cancelled the appointment. then on Sunday, I felt ill in the build up and until the 1st goal went in. to be honest 17:00 on May 15th cannot come quick enough :)

this next 8 games are going to be tough, on that prediction thread I had us winning 6 drawing 4 of our last 10 and so far I think I have had draw and win

Bournemouth (h) had us to win, but this game feels tougher with the way they are playing
Liverpool (a) had us grabbing a draw, my real worry about this 1 is most of our squad are playing in international friendlies
Man U (h) had us drawing, just because we just can't seem to beat them at home
Stoke (a) feel we will scrape a 2-1 win, but this is always a tough game
WBA (h) feel a win under the lights, and if by then Leicester have dropped points, the atmosphere will be electric
Chelsea (a) another draw, the hoodo + Hiddink seems to have them playing better but not brilliant
Southampton (h) final home game, that will definitely have something to play for in it, went for a win
Newcastle (a) went for a win, but now worried as by then The Fat Waiter might of made them a lot harder to beat

hopefully the game tonight will have the new manager effect, though if it does I only expect a draw

I think N'Jie will score against Newcastle in our last game. I don't know what position we will be in, I have just had a very strange hallucination of him doing so.

I'm slightly worried I'm in one of those time travelly films. I hope not, because I'm not getting paid for that.

I think key is getting ahead of Leicester at some stage. I think while they are out with quite a lead the pressure is off a bit. If hey have to chase it would be a lot harder

That's the annoying thing about our run of 3 Monday fixtures - it will, most likely, be us doing the chasing.
I can't see us overhauling Leicester soon enough that they will be chasing us by then. Although, I would be VEY happy to be proven wrong!

In recent years we've broken almost all of our hoodos, Man Utd away, Arsenal Away, Chelsea at home etc. I have a feeling that this year when it counts the most, we'll end one or both of the remaining Chelsea and Liverpool away hoodos. Time to stop saying hoodo now before I sound like...

The WBA game worries me. I hate Tony Pullis and everything he stands for.
We can't think that we only need to turn up to win (as the Spammers game).

The saving grace with Liverpool might be them being in the EL. Otherwise, you know that Liverpool and Chelsea would like nothing better than to ruin our title chances. Especially Chelsea. That is the only thing they have left to play for, really. Ruining our title bid. Those 2 games will be massive. If we're going to win the title, we need to win at least 1 of them IMO.

I think we've got a better chance of winning at Chelsea than at Liverpool.

Chelsea have only won 5 games at home in the PL all year, 4 of which were against the bottom four. They've also only won once at home in the league under Hiddink.

Unfortunately I don't 13 points will win it for us. I think we will need change one of your defeats into a win and a draw into a win.

But, then again, I have no idea how Leicester are going to continue.
