Keep saying it, it's all corrupt (to varying/relative degrees).

If you think our hands our clean in this country, you're just wishing it so.

Maybe but we have certainly been one of the most vocal opposers to the Blatter regime so you would assume we aren't involved in whatever he is doing as if we were he would have threatened us to shut up!

Just realised. This probably means that the person who has paid the most bribes will probably lose the election.
If you have received a bribe to vote for say Blatter, after the arrests today he'd be the last person you'd vote for. Then they wouldn't be able to arrest you for corruption.

Didn't mean directly related to this.

Corruption, dodgy deals etc...
But because of the level of auditing and oversight etc.,like you said, the reach of blatant corrupt behaviour is managed.

Don't get me wrong...the corporate world is filthy, I'm fully aware of that.

But an organisation like this...this really gets me.

there will be no election, he'll start a football empire

Lol!

Would love that to be his big press conference.

Henceforth! I shall reform Fifa into the world's first galactic football empire! For a both Safe and secure organisation!

So FIFA are saying that they welcome the investigations into the 2018 and 2022 World Cups but then insist that there will be no reelection (n)

They're living in a dreamland there. The sponsors pretty much pay for the world cup themselves and no one will want anything to do with it if it's proven the whole thing is a result of corruption.

We might care about the corruption surrounding it in this country. But will the rest of the world really care?

Most of Europe and North America probably would (as may other continents, before I get labelled xenophobic!). That's got to be a fair old chunk of the sponsors target markets.
