He actually reminds me more and more of Marcelo, with the same type of forward runs and defending.

Just no, for gods sake...

I thought I'd add my reaction to the Danny Rose new contract thread. Pleased to say Danny has changed my opinion of him this season and he is proving to be a very good LB for us. In recent weeks he's even been getting goals and assists and you can't ask for much more. To be fair to him he is deserving on an England call up based on the form of Baines and Shaw who are his rivals.

think this thread needs to be renamed danny's easily's been one of the clubs top performers this season and imo is neck and neck with vertonghen as the best defender this season

Rose has really stepped up this year, growing in to a very good player

Still the occasional positional mistake defensively that can prove costly - although I blame the CB's who should be marshalling the line and his lack of support from the LWF position, and certainly no more so than Walker on the other side - But Rose is starting to look like a very good EPL level wing back

Getting forward well and becoming an attacking threat and his defending is also getting better and better, some strong, athletic displays with great slide/block challenges every match

Considering I didn't rate him and actually disliked him less than a season ago he's now becoming one of my favoured starting players

Like Kane and Mason he's proving me wrong - I hope Townsend will do the same

What I admire about him is his determination to change his game and be a positive influence. Yes we see the odd mistake, but he is bringing about changes to his game that is getting him noticed for the right reasons. Liking Rose a lot now!

Shame that sections of our fan base made some pretty appalling comments about him last year, embarrassing really.

I think he would be the first to admit he has grown and developed a lot from the player he was. He has had a significant attitude correction from the player that said he wasn't prepared to be back up. He also has changed significantly from the player that didn't put a shift in to get back into position and regularly jogged.

Rather than criticise people who criticised him, applaud the change he has made to his game and the player his corrected attitude has helped him to be.

I'm not on about his improvement, I'm talking about our 'fans' calling him every name under the sun and going OTT, some of the shit that was written about him last year was unwarranted so therefore the people who didn't offer any constructive criticism on him are idiots.

So impressed with him lately.

He's properly changed my mind about him. I remember being bewildered when he signed that contract last year.

Bertrands had one decent season. At least Rose was decent at Sunderland.

He should have been in the squad in the first place. No way did Shaw and Gibbs deserve their call ups.

Magnificent news. A big fat uppercut for all the people who were completely out of line with some of the comments they made about him last year. Good on yer lad!
