he created a great chance for jiminez and in effect created his own 1v1 chance with his run and speed today, granted his finishing isn’t as good as sons or other elite wingers but to say he’s not creative isn’t true, he’s more creative than what we see from bergwijn and lucas half of the games they play

I take your point on the Jimenez chance, but with the number of times he skinned us out wide, should he not have created a bit more? Most of his crossing was just hitting low into bodies.

Like I said, I'm sure he can do a job, but is he a Champions League player, bearing in mind that's where we're trying to get to? Can he become one at this stage? And if he is and can, why after having a reputation such as his for a couple of years now is he still at Wolves? If we could get him for 15m, which we can't, then it's a great punt, but if we're looking at the wrong end of 40m or more than I just don't see how he's worth it. Onions, ofc

Not sure why this needs to be so polarising.
I'm not either. But I think it's because he's outstanding in one respect (physicality, pace) and terrible in another (end product). He's a very unusual footballer.

So we're gonna replace Bale... Mr end product... Best minutes per goal in the league last season with Mr no end product....

Makes sense...
We finished 7 with your “Mr end product”. So yeah I’m up for trying another direction.

It's probably been said to death and it's not my money but I think he would be really good with better players around him. Him Son and Kane would be deadly even if he's not scoring.

Cool let's buy athletes with no football or technical ability. I hear Zokora is willing to come back.

IF you don't think Adama has technical ability, you must be watching him with your eyes closed.

End product fair enough, but Adama is one of the most technical players in the league.

The technical ability to hit a shot out for a throw is next level. I'll give you that. As is that technically brilliant one on one he had today. Just like Bale against sheffield united.

First of all i think as a Spurs fan to say "your mr end product" like that about probably the greatest player (our) fotball club has and ever will see is very disrespectful in my opinion. Gareth (with his end product) had during his peak years from 2012-2018-19 season in 270 games scored 130 goals a goal ratio of 0.47 goals/game and with that end product he was able to win 4 champions league titels and two league titels and had those stats as a winger next to Ronaldo that the team was built around.... I say it again. for me a very disrespectful comment about Gareth :(

What winger do people want instead? Good, realistic options please.
I personally don't see the need for another winger. Son, Bergwijn, Lucas, Gil. Plus Sessegnon can play there if needed. Don't get why we need to spend big on another one when we have so many other holes to fill.

Depends. If we don’t get another striker and Kane gets hurt we have to move Son up top, leaves us short on the wings. If we sign a backup striker then I agree.

I think today was a perfect insight into that Son needs to be left on the wing and we play with a real striker

Now imagine we do sign him and how polarizing the match day and ratings threads will be. That will be fun. Still a no for me though. We have more pressing areas to fix.

Good question. I went and dug a bit, found nobody young, exciting, and attainable/realistic in Serie A (which I imagine would be the first place we'd look). So I went looking at Spain next, and a certain Mr. B Gil popped up as the best young chance creator from wide positions. What luck!

EDIT: Addendum - I did the same thing in Ligue 1, and Romain Faivre popped up. And wouldn't you know, Wolves have been sniffing around (according to reports).

He is equally as important to Wolves, as Kane is to us. You can forget about signing him cheaply as this point of the window.

Traore is all style, no substance imho. Great player to watch, but won't win you things as proven yesterday.

A good analogy for me, from another sport, is a golfer who can drive the ball 400 metres/yards but can't sink putts under 10 foot.

Surely we can spend the money we would use on him to better use elsewhere in the squad
