Ade doesn't play for a new contract. Ade plays well when the transfer window comes around. It's not Only Spurs fans that say this.

He only scored 14 last season because he came back into the team with a point to prove after AVB was sacked...

8 the season before is putiful and the 17 he got while he was on loan was due to him playing for a permanent contract...

He's good when he's good, but he's a player that can't be relied on to perform, and he's just one of those guys that's always surrounded by insanity. The African Cup issue in 2012/2013, missing flights, malaria, crazy relatives and juju. The penalty against Basel also deserves an honorable mention.

Keeping him as an integral part of the squad (as he has to be, being our top earner) is like employing a pilot that's only sober two days a year.

I must say, I am not a Capoue fan, but having just seen the highlights at halftime on BBC it appears Capoue has done a few good things. Credit where credit's due,.... good on ya tonight Etienne (y)

but that position is Bentaleb's without question :pompous:

(Ooooopppss - meant for fa cup match thread...)

You're right, Adebayor doesn't only play well for a new contract. Adebayor only plays well for Adebayor.

I think it's no coincidence that his form has changed depending on who manages him. H & Tim cut him some slack compared to most of the other players whereas AVB and Poch want to treat everyone equally and demand hard work from them all.

I think Ade benefits from being loosely managed, the more you tell him what to do, the less he's gonna do it. Problem is you then risk pissing off the rest of the group who see it as favourable treatment.

It's best that he leaves if this is how it is right now. Wonderful talent but too much emotional baggage and this time the manager must be backed over the players who won't pull the way he wants.

Just posted this in the 'amnesty' thread but I'll stick it here too;

I like Emmanuel Adebayor. Sure, he has a life outside football and doesn't live and breathe Spurs, but I think he wants to play and to play well for the team. I truly believe he is currently going through a period of what western medicine would call mental illness, and that he does genuinely believe he is a victim of witchcraft. If he beats the Juju it's likely he could find form and become as formidable as we know he can. If there's also an ego and entitlement matter then that's a different thing, but none of us can know for sure whether that's the case. I believe he wants to enjoy playing good football for his team, and when he's happy he scores goals and helps others score goals.

I totally agree with this and the bit in bold just shows how immature the guy is.
