For what it's worth Keane is so much better playing high up the pitch as opposed to coming deep all the time.
He stopped those shocking dummies to nobody and If he stopped coming deep and getting in the way so much that would help him, and the team too.
Ramos has looked at it and thinks Berbs is better being in the hole, if needed.

There is no question though that Keano and Bale have been our best and most consistent players so far this season and it will be good to have 1 of them back next week.

We also miss Bales drive and delivery hugely

Yeah, I think we have really seen that if Keane is to play he needs to play higher up, and not dropping deep. Berbatov is better dropping deep, it's just whether Keane is better than Bent or Defoe as being the man on the shoulder.

Defoe plays 'up top'. He's very small and doesn't play as a target man.

Keane played 'up top' against Fulham last season away in the cup, Mido flicked the ball on twice, Keane (from his position on the shoulder of the last man) smacked in two perfect over-the-shoulder volleys.

he did the same against bolton last season feeding off of berb's flick ons.

Does anyone remember Keane against Liverpool earlier this season? That is his best position. Finding space, on the shoulder of the last defender, causing havoc.

Not coming deep thinking he is a play maker; because he simply isn't one.

Whatever, he's been our most effective striker by far for the past three years. Defoe hasn't cut the mustard and so far Bent hasn't either. This is merely a sad attempt by nic to cloak his irrational dislike of Keane in a semblance of logical analysis. It fails abysmally.

Just because he's been our most effective striker for 3 years doesn't mean that we might actually be more effective without him in the team. I was genuinely interested if anyone else may have seen there can be positives to playing without Keane, though most people seem to support him just as much as the club.

Blahdeblahdeblah. You don't like Keane, you seek to rationalise this dislike with snide claptrap.

BORING.

Why do people think I don't like Keane, I do like him. I just think that we could be more effective with a different strike partnership.

Indeed. Just cos we have had the rub of the green the last couple of matches and that happens to coincide with Keanos absence has nothing to do with his contribution to the team. Not like Mr Bent has set the world on fire in the mean time

How many in the league excluding penalties?

I am not his biggest fan, but he has been very good thus far this season. I wonder though if Ramos will accommodate him, as he seems to like fast pacey strikers.

Time will tell.

So it’s league games, excluding penalties, wearing his lucky pants and combing his hair to the left. A goal is a goal is a goal.

Obviously "a goal is a goal" but if you are scoring most of your goals against 3rd rate UEFA Cup teams or against Division 2 League cup teams, then you can see what I am getting at?

It’s been a long time since Anfield was a fourth tier ground. Do you see what I’m getting at?

Why oh why oh why do so many supporters spend so much time on our strikers and who is better than who, we've one of the best strikeforces in the league and they score us goals.

Far more concerns in other areas of the side, thankfully I'm sure Ramos is acutely aware of that and I'd go as far as this to say I don't think our strikeforce will have him up all night in a cold sweat!!!!

Maybe people concentrate on strikers and goals as it's probably the easiest area to analyse.
