Archway sheet metal works on fire

The fire brigade investigators will have been through that wreckage with a fine-tooth comb. If there were any obvious signs of arson—i.e., any trace of an accelerant—they'd have found it within a few days, or so I've been told by someone who should know. Likewise, if the club's CCTV down Paxton had picked up anyone legging it from the scene, the cops would certainly have made it public by now. The longer there's no word, the more likely it looks as if it was an accident.

If it was accidental, chances are it was started off by an electrical fault, and that's going to be very difficult to trace. It's impossible to tell from outside, but the upper floor may well have collapsed, especially if there was any heavy machinery up there. It's also interesting that most of the windows on both floors seem to be intact (see the photo Dougal posted), which suggests they may be made of some sort of toughened glass.

Its just interesting that the owners were there in a hurry screaming petrol bomb etc... on the night. For it to turn out to be an accident is the most likely cause, arson by them next and trailing by a way, arson by a 3rd party.

You never watched backdraft. Deniro would have solved it in minutes. Then got beaten up by his wife.

From what i'm lead to believe, a competent investigator will spot an electrical fire on their first sweep of the scene. I would imagine it's one of the first and most thorough things they are taught to check for anyway. Still doesn't rule out it being deliberate, though would obviously be an inside job if that were the case. Sabotage to some wiring from the thermostat, cause a timed short right next to some inconveniently flammable materials, etc.

It's certainly been quiet enough for us to confidently say that the Police aren't on a man hunt.

That and obvious signs of arson, yes. If that upper floor did collapse, though, it might take a bit longer than usual to find the evidence. Of course, they could have found it and be in the process of compiling their report.

I recently went on a fire investigation course. To be honest, apart from the scientific analysis of accelerants, it came across as quite simple, so long as the scene is not completely destroyed, to locate the point of ignition.

Have Archway said anything on their Twitter (or is everyone on here banned form their page)? I'd assume the police would've told them to not say anything, but the way Josif was running around practically waving a signed picture of Levy screaming 'Petrol bomb!' suggested they were either utterly convinced it was arson, or trying very, very hard to make it look that way.

Would it be absurd to assume that if the police are building a case against a certain perty there would be very little or no information coming from them.

If it is an accident that is some freaky timing, innit.
Could have happened 8 years ago (or whenever we first started to buy up property).

I have to say though, knowing how the media works, the first time i saw the name 'Archway Steel' in the papers stood out to me. It was a pro club piece in the Standard as I remember, and up to that point no one saw fit to name the company. Since then there has been pressure mounting on ArSt, which I think has been due to the club's (or councils) subtle PR maneuvering.

I'm not saying the clubs endgame was to have them burnt to the ground, but they've certainly turned up the heat in terms of public pressure

(see what I did?)

Well you keep playing the same record and we are all wondering which one it is.

Dude.

That might be one of my favourite tracks but I'm hardly the sort of dj who turns up to a disco with one record.

I'm like jive bunny. Perfectly segueing all the hot topics into bite size chunks.
