Are we only 2 strikers away from a title tilt?

We need new posters who don't clog up every thread with their anti Harry shite. Its so boring and repetitive. Have a look through if you are unsure if its you and go and play in another thread. I will start it if you like and call 'why we hate Harry and we are so crap because of him' you can keep it on topic and keep posting the same crap and stop posting in every other thread.
Please.

To win a title

One of Milito/Klose/Falcao
One of Young/Marin/Hulk
One of Lukaka/Wickham
One of Subotic/Kjaer/Jones/Cahill

probably cost you 75m for the 4 players though

You can expect
Parker
Beckham
Neville
J Cole
and C Cole

I think we need 2 good players for every position to challenge for the title and I think we are short in a number of areas. Assuming we will play 4-5-1/4-3-3 next season then:

(Assuming Hutton, Woodgate, Bassong, Kranjcar, Keane, Bentley and Jenas are leaving)

GK: Gomes, Cudicini (unsure)
RB: Corluka, Walker (unsure)
LB: Ekotto, Rose (strong)
CB: Dawson, Gallas, Kaboul, King (strong)
RM: Lennon (no backup)
LM: Bale, Pienaar (strong)
DM: Sandro, Palacios (improve backup)
CM: Modric, Huddlestone (strong)
AM: Van der Vaart (no backup)
FD: Defoe, Crouch, Pavlyuchenko (weak)

I'll get hounded down but maybe GDS could cover VDV and Lennon.... if we go to 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 it'd suit his game a lot better.

Oh no? Under Ramos we'd be winning the league are you implying?

Where did I imply that?

Harry may not be the best manager but he's the best since Jol, probably better than him now.

Still not capable of winning a league. Harry had a much stronger squad than Jol.

The problem with Harry is his ability to rotate players, and maybe the subs he put on are questionable. But don't take anything away from what he's done.

No, do take away form what he's done. You can't list positives, and then fail to mention all the negatives He's finished 5th out of 6 good teams. You aren't seriously saying that finishing above Everton (skint) Bolton and Stoke is a great acheivement? Even the Pool were about 300 million in debt and had a manager sacked, and still nearly overtook us.

Took us out of relegation to 8th in his first half of the season. Second season we took 4th. 1/4 finals in CL. Dominated games against Top 4, and never looked like we're going to lose. Win against Arsenal away since yonks back. Win against Liverpool away since yonks back AGAIN. Beat Chelsea like 3 times since taking over. Decent signings, no worse than good. We made City play like kids but again strikers let our team effort down.

Oh really, wasn't aware of that first fact......(sigh) Didn't win a game against the bottom four. Pick holes in this all day if you like.

I think you're right and people won't agree but if we're talking about someone that can play on the right in a 4-2-3-1 or play behind the striker then I hope Harry and GDS can sort out any differences as if gds is ready to fight for a spot next season I still think he could be a very good player for us.

I think that playing alongside Modric/Vdv etc would help us get the best out of him. He is obviously not as quick as Lennon but has a much better shot and is a much better finisher. I think he'd be a very good player for us to have next season.

Failing that there were a few reports of us being linked with Perotti earlier and I wouldn't mind seeing him come in although he plays better on the left. I think that it's very important we add another player with some pace capable of playing on the right. Previously when Lennon has been unavailable we've had to replace him with Bentley/Krancjar/VdV and then we have no threat with any pace on the right. Add to that if Bale is not there and we have no pace on either side.

I've said in the scouting thread that i'd love us to go for Wijnaldum at Feyenoord, he can play upfront or on the winger and I think he is the type of player we should be looking at before his stock rises too much.

Have to say that personally i'm happy with our fullback options once Hutton is sold, to have Corluka/Walker and BAE/Rose is great options I think. Also adding that Bale can play at LB too and Kaboul at RB. Been really impressed with Rose at LB after not really rating him as attacking player. Full credit for Harry on that one.

N'Zogbia would be a clever signing. More end product than Lennon.

2 strikers and a Centre Half is a given.

Parker will probably fuck off somewhere like Newcastle who will pay him £100k a week.

That would be enough to fire him

I'd take P.Neville as a right back. Beckham instead of Bentley I'd take for leadership.

Parker = No, J Cole = No, C Cole = No

What about Jelavic whose up at Rangers.
He took a while to adjust up there but has finished very strong, scored some really good goals over the last few weeks, and has made Kyle Laverty look good with some on a plate assists. I completley get the old argument that the SPL is basically terrible but there are some good players up there. Jelavic ticks that box for me.

The "world-class CB" you're all talking about?

We're going for Rio Ferdinand. We will be bidding for him in the summer, whether we get him or not is a different matter - personally I think we won't, but we will try for sure... it all depends on if Man U can get a replacement that they trust.

Didn't we try for him last year as well?

How many crocked centre backs do we need?

Ferdinand has played a few more games this season than last but he has chronic back problems and is never gonna give us a full season.

He's almost as injury prone as Ledley these days, have we not learnt any lessons? Also I thought he was on over £100k a week.
