Great game and I was impressed with the effort and attitude of our boys. Not sure I have ever seen a AM work as hard as Lamela. Wish Eriksen would watch and learn because his "look I'm trying to tackle" is getting embarrassing . Defending corners and freekicks needs to be worked on because Vert and Dier were all over the place. Young team and will only get better. Sad it's international break.

Totally agree, we need to dominate more in the air at CB and after that i think we may have cracked it (Y)

Actually just further proves how well we did play, when you remember 3 games in 6 days, makes today an even better performance than most will give is credit for.

...against a team that won their last 5 league games too.

I am very impressed with the progress we've made. Team ethic over individualism.

Which is precisely why the owners should have invested more into buying an experienced striker to come on and help win games like this today. We've obviously improved massively, but it's so frustrating to know that a goal here and there in certain games would have us top of the league.
Give me a name, because I have no idea

Frustrating as they're seemingly out biggest top 4 rivals... A win today would have put us 6 points ahead.

But we were away facing top a team that had won five on the bounce, we had perished for a quarter of a century, and not at home to what could be considered a team further down the pecking order as was Liverpool.

Well played. Wilted a little towards the end but a great performance from the team. Just a shame we didn't take all 3 points but that's football and I am sure this young team will learn from this experience. A top 4 finish is not beyond current expectations we just need to continue to play with verve, commitment and confidence. COYS

so we are probably one more striker away from the title!

anyway, Claude is one rational gunner he seems.. the video is entertaining no doubt!

One angry gooner! Google him! I think he hates Wenger more than most spurs fans do. Definitely seems to be a closet Spurs fan.

Like a guy that realises its too late for him to divorce his wife for the sake of the kids but cant stop casting glances and wishing what could have been to his secret love

So proud to have him represent us. Comports himself the right way.

Spurs dominated Arsenal at their ground for 75 minutes (they beat Bayern there 10 days ago) and should have been 2-3 goals up....but, not surprisingly, Spurs let in a "soft" goal and then got nervous. However, this is many's EPL title favorite and they have rocked the EPL at times this season. But Spurs rocked them - with a relatively new team ( the youngest team in the EPL this season).
I saw their goal again, and I totally disagree that Lloris should have saved it: Gibbs is shooting from 3-4 meters distance and there is not way he can react to a shot from such a short distance. One may say he should have come further out before the shoot was made and thus could have saved it. And one may say that Walker should have marked him tighter but Girourd, who had caused Spurs a lots of problem in the air, was relatively unmarked and on cannot blame Walker for thinking that the cross was aimed at Girourd.

Didn't you want Poch out about this time last year?

Fuck sake give it a rest.

Great weeks results, fantastic individual performances, tired players, and twice as many goals scored than conceded and Captain Hindsight just has take a dig.

Be fucking happy for the team, and it's fans just this bloody once for Christs sake.

Just a thought, we've now played the 2 teams most tipped to win the league.
We beat City 4.1.
We just out played Arsenal in their own backyard and should have won.
We got a draw against Liverpool.
We've only lost 1 game in PL this season. That was against Man U, at Old Trafford. A lousy 1.0 own goal and they never even had a shot on target!!!
Arsenal never had a single fkin shot in the 1st half. Unbelievable.
If we keep this form up we're gonna find it very hard not to finish top 4.
With Chelsea out of the picture I'm starting to believe we can really do it this season.

Give me a name, because I have no idea

Naming an actual player is not the point really is it. I'm not out there scouting, I don't know who was available and who wasn't preseason. The fact of the matter is that we needed to sign a centre forward as proper cover for Kane this season and the powers that be fucked it up. And that might ultimately cost us. But this is boring, what's done is done, onwards and upwards and all that.

Some people get so worked up over the slightest of criticism over our players - Lamela was excellent, he's prone to ill timed tackles and puts us under pressure. I aren't saying he shouldn't be playing just needs to be a little more disciplined at times.
I don't think it's a discipline problem. He's not getting booked from reactions or anything like that, and he seems to be following instructions to a tee. I think it's more a case of he's a skillful player who's applying himself within the team ethic but who has limitations in his tackling ability. Perhaps his decision making about when and when not to tackle can be faulted, but it seems to be part of the ethic to make the tackle and worry about the consequences later. With respect to his general play with the ball, he still shows promise but isn't quite delivering yet, at least not in proportion to his pricetag. It's been a painful process so far and if he's to cement a place in the team long term and justify that price tag then he still has a long way to go. If anything, the greatest thing I admire about him is his discipline and the way he seems to be gradually playing his way through by dint of sheer effort. He'll need to keep it up because there are other serious contenders for his place but I do think he's worth his place in the team.

Having been a Spurs supporter for the last 58 years I genuinely empathize more with this team than any other other since the 60's, early 70's. This is undoubtedly due to seeing a fine young squad working and melding together, created by a manager with a clear philosophy using academy players and youthful imports along with a few wiser heads, playing exciting, fast exchange footie with the odd piece of magic thrown in. It looks like I'm going to see out the twilight of my life a very happy man. Keep it up Mauricio, you're doing an excellent job.

Tottenham are constantly improving but it is Arsenal who are north London's title challengers
It is very possible that next season Spurs will be in with a shot at being league champions, writes Harry Redknapp

Tottenham Hotspur are unbeaten in 11 Premier League games and making real progress under Mauricio Pochettino but it is still Arsenal that are the genuine title contenders.

• Arsenal vs Tottenham Hotspur: Five things we learnt

Spurs have only lost once, on the opening day, they should have beaten Arsenal on Sunday and in Harry Kane have got one of the best young strikers in the country who is proving he is anything but a one-season wonder.

But out of the two north London clubs I have to say Arsenal have got a far better chance of challenging the likes of Manchester City for the league.

Arsenal are suffering because of the sheer number of injuries and got an absolute thumping in the Champions League against Bayern Munich on Tuesday night, when they were completely outclassed.

They are seen as the best footballing side in England, which they obviously are, but that was a harsh lesson for them and they were totally smashed to pieces.

This was a really good time for Spurs to play them but in coming back to secure a point it proved that Arsenal have now got the mental resilience they have been so frequently accused of lacking.

There could easily have been some scars from that beating in Munich yet this point keeps them right on the tails of Manchester City and in with a chance of winning that elusive title.

These games are always topsy-turvy affairs – as Spurs manager, I remember being 4-2 down against Arsenal in October 2008 and drawing 4-4, while two years later we were trailing 2-0 and ended up winning 3-2.

You can never predict the outcome of these derbies because of their intensity but Arsenal will view Sunday’s result as another statement, especially when they are so depleted.

When they get their players back from injury, the likes of Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Aaron Ramsey, they can really start flying.

People are now talking about Spurs, one of my former clubs, as potential contenders but I’d be telling a lie if I said I agreed with them. For me, they are still short of the likes of City, Arsenal and United and, if they were to lose Kane through injury, I think they would have a real problem.

Spurs have got a real chance of finishing in the top four and finally securing that place in the Champions League, the one competition Chairman Daniel Levy is desperate for his club to be playing in.

Thursday night games have a damaging effect on league results and while Spurs are competing in the Europa League I think that is another reason why they will always fall short.

Finishing fourth, in only Pochettino’s second full campaign, would still represent a hugely successful season.

Maybe the chairman will have a real go in the January transfer window and bring another striker in to give them a better chance. I was in that position in 2011, we had a shot at winning the title and needed to bring players in because we had injuries.

We didn’t bring them in and fell away badly, and I’m sure if Spurs are in a similar position this time they would do things differently. They tried and tried for West Bromwich Albion’s Saido Berahino over the summer and, while he may be out of reach in January, I hope they go for a striker who can provide decent cover for Kane.

It is now five goals in the last three games for Kane and I must say from a personal point of view I’m delighted. I was listening to the radio the other day and people were saying that Harry had been sussed out – I’d never heard so much rubbish before in my life and I was so angry I nearly called up the radio show to tell them how strongly I disagreed.

He’s got the lot and he is only going to get better. He can do everything, score a goal, pass it and bring other players in. If every footballer had his attitude a manager’s job would be so much easier. He’s like a Frank Lampard or a Stevie Gerrard, a consummate professional.

I’ve also been hugely impressed with Dele Alli and he is going to be a real star of the future. He has taken to the Premier League like he’s played there all his career and made massive strides since coming in from Milton Keynes Dons.

But Arsenal are still the stronger team and I fully expect them to be challenging for the title in the final weeks of the season.

Spurs could be in a position next season to be in with a chance, but not this time
