The media just seem to love a pointless headline more click bait or are they trying raise Villa's hopes..

Don't bother clicking, the four are Reggie, Sess, Skippy & Tanga.

Could really do with Reggy or Sess back - we're doing OK without the others, though Skippy would be a nice bonus

Is what I wrote hard to understand??
Serious question, to me it's clear what I'm saying, but maybe it's not clear to others, if so happy to clarify?
I completely agree with you. There are 5 teams competing for 4th... and I include Chelsea in that.
Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal, Man U and West Ham all have a shot at 4th. I think 3 teams have a shot for 3rd. (Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal).
I do think Chelsea will make 3rd but I think we will be right on their tails and make 4th comfortably.

Thanks Deka, I thought what I wrote was perfectly clear. Naturally, I also think it's correct, but that's another issue ?

i hope you are right about us making 4th comfortably, I’ll even come down an winch you if we do! You might need to Google that Scottish slang expression

Did you watch the first half. Palace were far superior...Arsenal were absolutely bossed.

Second half they changed it, Palace tired and Arsenal controlled it without creating that much.

But played well? No way...even Alan Smith conceded it was a night to forget.
You hit the nail on the head @Mr Pink . I only saw the 2nd half, so my assessment will be skewed !

We just won 5-1 without any of the players you mention. And that's just "doing OK" ?

I think I'll be pretty happy if we continue to be that OK!

I don't disagree with that - when I say "OK", there's an element of British understatement!

But what I would say is that we can't afford to drop points, and I do think we'd benefit from a faster, left footed player at LWB.

Villa away is a tougher game too than the recent ones, IMO

Will be a tough game because I do think Gerrard will get them up for this game post their recent defeats and poor performance. Also a pertinent point is that all the teams (west spam dont count) around us will play before us - so we need to win and show that we arent an Arsenal and buckle under any sort of pressure.

Im still going for a 6-2 to Spurs - COYS

I think it's important not to focus on Arsenal. For example it's better that Arsenal win and we win, than Arsenal lose and we lose
Our next four games are winnable, win them and then even if Arsenal win all theirs we are putting pressure on the other contenders including Chelsea.
It's a five way conversation for 4th at the moment, we need to have the most powerful voice, not just rely on one other going quiet
Totally agree and reflect...
Make our presence felt-be dominate in our quest-we can only win our games and let others do what they wish. We need all three points (no disrespect to Villa) regardless of the Arsenals result because other teams are sniffing around at forth. Chelsea slipped up again last night so could their league form dip??

Its very exciting, so open.

Last time around (different coach) they threw everything down our left side, luckily Reguilon defended well. If they do something similar we need him or Sess to start at LWB.

I don't see Sess as a good defender, nor Reggie actually. But Reggie is the better of the two.
Our best defender that side is Davies, but I get that Conte wants to keep him LCB
I think if Reggie is fit, play him. Otherwise stick with Doc there, and rely on Davies to help out

Referee: Graham Scott. Assistants: Harry Lennard, Mark Scholes. Fourth official: Craig Pawson. VAR: Jarred Gillett. Assistant VAR: Lee Betts.
That's the fucker who refused to rule out Brightons goal against us in the league last season, he gave the goal, var told him to check and he stuck to his guns despite PEH clearly being fouled in the build up, incompetent knobhead. Pretty sure hes made some other clangers since, but then thats the standard of refs in this league.

I think every ref has fucked over ever club on at least one occasion. Unfortunately you just have to accept it, otherwise we'll all end up sounding like Gooners.

Spoke to my best mate last night who is a big Villa fan. He thinks we will win comfortable.

The issues they face is getting the ball to Coutinho against the better teams. They don't have a midfielder like Bentancur who can play it around the corner into those areas quick enough. Also they try and play the Liverpool way with getting their full backs high which he mentioned to me will just play straight into Deki and Son's hands with space in behind. Digne has been a bit of an anti climatic signing and players like McGinn and Sanson are just average.

He would rather they parked the bus but doesn't think Gerrard has it in him to set a team up that way.

He certainly would but I’d rather he missed the rest of the season and be 100% for the next one rather than bring him back too early
