Imagine having Stones Dias Laporte Ake Gvardiol Akanji as CB options 🤢
Yeah imagine breaching many ffp rules and building a billion pound squad of players but never get punished for it. Of course people will praise them for how great they are though.

Not same age, but Jesus and Zinchenko are otherwise perfect examples of players doing well.
Laporte can bring that 'winning mentality' into the camp much like they did with Arsenal.

.....yes, yes I understand the irony with the fact they didn't win the title but you all know what I mean.

Wouldn't be surprised if city are buying in the anticipation of an upcoming multi window transfer ban

Wouldn’t surprise me at all if they used a back 4 of Akanji, Dias, Stones and Gvardiol in the Big Crunch matches as Akanji and Gvardiol are both comfortable playing fullback. Tremendous options to have

Gvardiol wheels moving now.. does I'm Eric want to just be a bench option?

Romero, Laporte, Micky - that's a good back line for us.

His experience could be very good for us. Adding a little calmness to what’s been a rash back four for the last few years.

Seems like it could be an excellent signing if we can manage it as it kind of feels a bit like the Naybet signing way back, Naybet came in as the experienced player (at 34 iirc) and helped Ledley develop massively over his time with us.

Laporte could do the same with VDV and help tame Romero a bit all whilst being a fair bit younger too.

they’re gonna be so solid inc with Kova as well as Philips. Do they need one more AM? I’m always paranoid about the Goons who have bought quite well although I can see Havertz flopping

Yeah they left short imo with wingers and AM. They need to replace Mahrez and with de bruyne out a whole

I think Pep will use cole palmer a lot more next season. Has not been linked with a loan move and is a very good player. Would love him at spurs.

Will be interesting to see if they let Laporte go or not

City spend big bit I’m telling you their recruitment and football set-up is top top class, they get far more hits than misses which isn’t always the case when spending a lot of money as a Chelsea and Man.U and other clubs have shown.

Allow this. They're corrupt as fuck. It's a lot easier to integrate into a team of superstars, than a team where you meant to be the man from the off.
Pep is great at what he does, which is why they have more hits than misses but once he's gone it'll revert to mean

They have the blueprint for how to buy and build a club. They brought City, then continued to invest their own money into the squad, until recently when they have become self-sustainable. They will spend big on 1-2 young players, and really just continue to invest in younger players they can integrate into the squad over time - Alvarez was the latest example.

But they have also been doing a good job in selling their version of deadwood - Jesus and Sterling last summer come to mind - and that keeps their current spend down, and looks reasonable. All of the over-spending was done in the past.

Let's not forget all the behind the scenes financial diddling they've done to land those targets though...
