TBH, sounds like a bit of a formality...like Clough at Derby, he probably wasn't expecting it to be accepted :)

Park football maybe, not at the top level, drilling movement and formation and instruction into players at this level is crucial.
agree to a certain extent, but to become a top professional footballer you know there movement is gonna be more instinct than drilled. I think avb was the one taking their natural skills away with all the drilling.

Agree, seemed to me as though it was all drills rather than finding a natural balance of intuition and attacking drills, it wasn't right, i read a Petr Cech interview where he said on the trainging ground everything was excellent, but they couldn't translate it into games.
Think we have seen the same thing happen with us.

Yep, if he genuinely wanted to leave, he would've left. It's not like we're holding him prisoner.

Or are we...:nailbiting:

am i drunk and going mad, ok, i'm drunk, but Derby? have i missed summit, do you mean Leeds?

You must, indeed, be at the stage of mumbling inanely, dribbling down yer chin and declaring undying friendship for everyone and anyone who comes within a 30 yard orbit.

Brian Clough took over Second Division Derby County (that's the equivalent to the modern Championship, for you younglings). After taking them to promotion and then the 1st Division title (that's the equivalent of the Premier League, for you younglings), as part of his ongoing power-struggle with the chairman, he proffered his resignation, believing even a parochial football board wouldn't be so crazy as to accept it. In what is probably the maddest afternoon's work of any football board, they accepted it - they allowed the goose that laid the golden egg (that explains the walk), who took them from parochial obscurity to being a force in Europe, to toddle off into the sunset and said ta ta :)

He later took the job at Leeds, that lasted so briefly.

My apologies SP, i know about Clough at Derby, what i didn't take into account was the title of this thread, bare with me while i regain my sanity and my sobriety, i hope you can forgive me

The Portuguese had hoped the club would keep Bale and bring in David Villa and Hulk to form a new strike force.

There has naturally been a lot of press coverage of the AVB dismissal but I have found very little comment on either the success or otherwise of AVB this season

I do not ever want to see Danny Rose cut inside and 'let fly' from 35 yards with his right foot ever again.
That is partially why I am concerned by some of what i am reading recently from the players and Sherwood.

I don't care. He's responsible for blowing a lot of cash on players not good enough IMO.

Think its a token gesture too. AVBs left, and Baldini believes that he should share some of the blame and offered his resignation. He did exactly the same at Roma.

Personally think Baldini is very important to Spurs and we need to cling on to him. Think his signings are fine, and that we've struggled to get the best out of them in a preferred system yet, but give them time and I truly believe we will have some top players on our books.

On what evidence do you consider the players he has brought in not good enough ?

Well if you consider good enough to be Europa League qualification, then I guess you're right. But I thought our aim was CL.

I'm not saying you're wrong just can't see how you can judge our signings either way with the amount of games some of them have played (Lamela being the main example). Also Soldado & Eriksen have both played for teams in the CL.

I think some fans are way to quick to write players off, Remember some of them barely speak english and all of them are playing in a new league. They were always going to need time.

Exactly.....everyone for the most part expects these signings to just suddenly gel and play well from the start.

Doesnt work that like most of the time, these players will need at least a season to get adapted.
