He is a high quality player -the first time i saw him play was in that game that broke the hoodoo against Chelsea.

Must admit i thought he was pretty good at first, then i thought he was terrible, and now i think he is actually really good.

Needs to work on his concentration sometimes, but i think he is a really good defender. His passing is also great, and his composure.

Hopefully the reports about him wanting to leave are rubbish.

It is all down to Harry's crew's coaching....it is quite clear.

Same with Daws.

I'd have to disagree with you. Harry hardly does any coaching and his coaches arent the greatest either. He even said himself that players are either good or they are not (so there is no hope for players looking to improve their game).

This is why lennon's end product still hasnt improved. Dawson always had the attributes he has now. He's just lacked confidence for a while. When he was first in the team alongside king, was he not the same player we have been seeing lately (except the goal count going up)?

I totally agree. He was playing well long before Harry came so dont give him (Harry) credit where its not deserved.

Plus for the other posters who are still nit picking at his defiencies like his concentration, come on, just give the guy credit and acknowlege that he is one of the few revelations in a poor season. It is so easy to disect someone's performance when credit is given grudgingly.

There are definitely more, but I can't remember exactly the words I used. A lot of them defending his first season while he was out injured.

Fair play Kendall - well backed up. You are duly inducted into SCHoCC - the SC Hall of Critic Consistency :)

The thing is with Ekotto, it was always clear the fella had ability on the ball, and that hasn't changed. But for me he's still a little bit suspect defensively.
However, he has clearly matured and started to show aptitude for the job, which I have to confess I was very scepticle he'd do.

The tyhing I like about him he can do the things when we're attacking that Y P Lee couldn't, he can set up a goal. His defending has got better. ike the guy & hope he stays.

I have to agree, i've totally changed my opinion on him. He looked awful when he first joined, kept getting skinned. but he's improved massively, and i love his agressive tackling. Has to start everytime for me.

Actually there's nothing he can do that Lee couldn't. I've seen Lee play players in 1 v 1 and every time they didn't finish the chances.

I'm not knocking Ekotto, he's definately improving, but Lee was the best LB we've had for many years and was treated very badly by Ramos.

Each to their own but Lee was crap past the halfway line as an attacking full back he wasn't that good. As a full back I agree Lee was brilliant but his game ended there. With Ektto we have a great attacking LB.

For me, Lee is the best left-back I've ever seen in a Spurs shirt, but B-C: surely you can admit that Assou-Ekotto's crossing is better (and far more productive) than Wipey's was? Lee was a brilliant defender and good going forward, but I'm not sure he ever got a direct assist in our colours. Benny on the other hand has a good few already.

So how do you explain that Daws has always hoofed the ball until now .... now he consciously moves the ball on to feet short 99% of the time ? Definitely been coached in to him recently.

Great to see him finally getting some well deserved credit, my son and I have always backed him on here even when the loonies have blamed him for everything from our bad results to the world recession...
(Feel free to search posts and check that!)
He is far and away first choice left back and must be one of the first names on the team sheet!
