it was the same last season with people moaning about dawson shouldn't have been player of the year. or was that the year before? i forget.

anyways. its not all about stats.

get over it

He shouldn't have been. Which is lucky really, because he wasn't awarded it. The system works :)

Well anyone who says 'let him go' imo is stupid!

Would be a step backwards to let our best and prob most consistant player over this season and last go.

Maybe those who say sell him or let him go have not been to a game since 1974???

But why?? WHY say sell our best player? Like UTD fans saying 'We should cash in on Ronaldo cos he dives now and again'???? WTF

I must add that I don't disagree with the decision, but mostly because I feel that Keane deserves some sort of recognition after playing his 250th game and scoring his 100th goal for us during this campaign.

Hi Paul :) I couldn't agree with you more - but that is the attitude of a lot of Spurs fans and I'm convinced one of the reasons why Berbs didn't win player of the season

it *****s me off how underrated Berbs is by so many of our fans but that's up to them of course

Don't think Berba's really underrated by many, but I do think Keane got the award for the reasons I stated above.

Hi Marty - fair play to those who voted for RK, I just disagree with them - and it annoys me as a big Berbs fan that Keane's habits of of arm waving and ineffectual running about seemed to be more overlooked than Brbs faults - also Keane has had more ineffectual games this season than Berbs

Hi DC, not wanting to piss on your parade, but from what I've read no one seems to doubt Berbs is our best player.

Those who have said let him go, don't really mean it, they want him to stay and are probably.

a) upset he's likely to leave.
b) very upset he's likely to leave.
c) don't see the point in having the best player in the squad here when he'd rather be somewhere else, not gonna do team morale next season much good.

As for the vote, I think it's refreshing and shows Spurs fans have some depth that they didn't vote for the best player which is obviously Berba, they decided to vote for a player who has by and large been our captain this season, who is our second longest serving player, who broke into the top fifteen goalscorers of all time, breaking the magical 100, who more than any other player was deliriously happy at our semi and final wins, who is basically a true spurs player. I think it's a decent shout to vote for him, and yes I did.

fair enough N10 :) yours is the sensible attitude here - but the anti-Berbs brigade have got to me :)

I don't begrudge RK his award - just think that he gets away with a lot that Berbs doesn't

I don't think it's a 'who is the better player' thing at all.

Berbatov is without doubt one of the best players we've had in a long time. Perhaps where the problem lies is in the fact that we've constantly got this sideshow with Berbatov. Speaking for myself, i'm fed up with reading about him going to a CL club and his agent saying this or his mother saying that......... it's like a long drawn out play and maybe people don't want to emotionally attach themselves, give adulation to or however you want to put it, to someone who they feel will pretty shortly be off to pastures new.

Now if he'd just come out and commit himself he might find that commitment and attachment returned a thousandfold with the adulation of the masses.

He might even have won SC player of the year, well, I might have fixed the vote to have been closer at any rate

fair comments A&C - probably berbs will leave - why shouldn't he - he's a top class player - he isn't particularly loved by Spurs fans so I sympathise with him wanting to get away -

it seems to me there are always plenty of people wanting to put the knife in him -

I know what you're saying but I ask myself this:

What came first? Him realising he might not be particularly loved, or him wanting away?

I'd say one created the other.

Fingers crossed he stays and if he does, i'll diddle it in his favour next season (although last year he did win with a huge 500 votes)

The trouble is, i think, is that Berbatov is regarded by a lot as like the girl we`ve always dream of. When we get them, we can`t believe that they are here forever so we let them suck us off and play with our balls.
Are we going to fall in love, are we fuck. We know that as soon as their heads are turned by bigger willies, more money, they`re off.
So long Berby, it was good while it lasted.
(unless of course it`s your stupid tosser of an agent all along, who will surely meet an untimely and grisly end)
