So United will have about 64 players vying for 4 forward spots then - Embolo, Rashford, Martial, Rooney, Zlatan, Mata, Lingard, Depay, Fellaini etc. crazy.

Awesome signing though, and a snip at £15m. We could have him and Janssen (subject to wages) for the same money being touted for batman! Crazy.

I'd imagine Mata is as good as gone, can't see Maureen liking Fellaini either, Delay is probably going to be thought of in the same way as Mata is by Mourinho, ie doesn't do the dirty work etc?

I can see a fair few of the United squad not being good enough for, or suitable for their new manager. However, as it stands, you're pretty spot on, surely? That's a lot of players to keep happy.

Rooney has been playing in midfield or centrally behind the number 9 (Ibra), embolo can play wide of the 3 as does Martial. That leaves Rashford as next in line.

This is how big clubs behave, multiple options, all of good quality, yet some on here seem scared to give our sacred mob any competition.

Completely agree and you're right, a couple will certainly go. I'd still be a little worried if I was Rashford though, his chances of playing as number one striker are diminishing.

I don't even think Rashford believed he was going to be the number one striker at Utd.

The state of that club, is the reason he got the oporunity to fast track his progress, but at the same time means that Jose was always going to come in and splash the cash.

Ironically, he was struggling to get into their u21 team this time last year.

It has been an amazing transition for him. Happily have him at Spurs if he's short on play time!

To be honest, I'm wondering how much of Rashford's form was down to adrenaline. As Freddie said, it was purely because the club was in a state of disarray, that he even got a chance in the first team.

Don't get me wrong, I hadn't even heard of the kid before last season, so have no idea as to his ability. It'll be interesting to see if he can keep up his (almost) a goal every other game ratio next season. But something tells me, because he plays for Man Utd, none of the experts, pundits, or media will even mention things like "One season wonder" or "Second season syndrome" etc, as they kept trying to ram down our throats with Sir Harry Kane.

Has the Embolo to United stuff actually been reported by a reputable source?

Utd will sell fellaini and mata... So that leaves them with lingard, depay, martial, rashford, rooney, zlatan and embolo for the front 4 positions. They still need 1 player as we all know you need two players for each position... So they will have 8 players for the front 4 position..

Well as smart as I think the Leipzig move would be, this move is at the opposite end of the spectrum.

There's absolutely no way Mou is playing all these young players. Someone out of these promising talents is going to be seriously fucked over.

The one thing you can say is Mourinho does love this type uber striker leading is line. Embolo is very much the potential "Drogba" type.

I still think Embolo would be much wiser going somewhere where he's going to be guaranteed to play every week as a striker, and keep developing. The danger is he could get lost in ManU's forest of fucking forwards, especially if Ibra pitches up.

Lots of twatter sources and a few media outlets (eg Mirror) but no mainstream press as yet. Seems to have clear indication of the following:
A) desire to move
B) suggestion of wages (£4.5m per year)
C) asking price
Doubt it's anything to do with his agent, as his first match of the Euros kicks off. Can't be that.

I think we should be signing that Hysaj for Albania instead if this game is anything to go by
