What a perfect signing for us he would be. Comes with a lot of premier league experience, can push Gomes all the way and only costs 1m.

I wonder if Lampard put in a good word for his uncle?

You forgot the Arshavin thread, for which Rob and A&C bought a new server to house. So if we throw in Parker, Duff and Rivaldo, we gots us a fucking old school par-tay!

Don't forget to throw in Christian Wilhelmsson. He was a oldie but goodie for a couple of transfer windows in a row.

Maybe Roger Morgan is living in a 12-month timewarp. I am aware that we had a deal agreed for Cud last Jan but Cech got injured and we dithered (so unlike us, I know), so he decided against it.

I remember that as it represented the first thawing of transfer relations between Chelsea and Spurs since the Arnesen affair. Down to Poyet, I believe. Might be interesting to get that confirmed by Dan.

Not that it helps us now, mind.

Well if it is true both me and the Mrs are going to be delighted but for such different circumstances.

if true good news ........even at 35 will push Gomes.

Obviously contract term and probably a bit of money making him move

wouldnt be at all surprised if HR had convinced him the No1 position was really up for grabs as well

I'll never forget that game last year. What a performance from Cudicini showing he's still got it. Great signing if true. We're nearly sorted for this window. If we end the window with Defoe, Cudicini and Palacios then i would be delighted. I'd still like a second number 9 striker and a left midfielder though.

We should have tried to sign him last summer.
He is a quality goalkeeper.
I think by the end of the season he could end up our No.1.
Or Maybe we will cash in on Gomes now.
Harry did confirm we have had an offer to get our money.
Alnwick could be No.2

He was the best keeper in the league at one point, but currently has no chance of displacing Cech. I've been a little concerned that Gomes' injury could be more serious than first assumed, maybe something like a groin tear but he has been playing with injections.

Seems clear that we need serious cover and Cudicini would provide that and more as he would actually push Gomes for a starting place. Of course this is the Mail. Nobody else has got a sniff of it, but the Mail think not that we are simply interested in signing him, but that we have actually completed the deal.

I guess time will tell, but I hope we pull this one off.

Cech is shit at the moment. I'd drop Cech.

If this is actually completed then I will be extremely pleased. Really rate Cudicini. I see him as intense competion for Gomes over the next two years. Gmoes is a really good keeper, but the guy has been injured. Cudicini can do the job (well!!!) for when he is not available.

Cesar to Valencia, Cudicini in. That is a good window for goalies.

You might be onto something there, and that could be one of the selling points too. Cudicini could have been promised regular first team football early on, which would give him a good chance to claim a first team place. Something he will not get at Chelsea.

That and a pay rise i'm sure.

you have admit that, even though we've been linked with players we don't fancy at all, and some real dross... if Harry were to complete this one his first 3 signings would be; Defoe, Palacios, Cudicini. Directly fixing 3 problem areas (so we hope) with probably about as good as we could get at this stage. I'm pretty pleased.

great keeper and at 35 he may well have a few years left in him
was shocked when chelscum replaced him with cech because at the time he was the best keeper in the prem ..... although cech didnt turn out bad after all !!!

hope its announced tommorow along with palacio

If I remember correctly, Cech was signed as back-up to Cudicini (according to Pleat our scouts took a look at him at Rennes and decided he wasn't much cop Eek). Then Cudicini had a series of disasters in the pre-season games, Maureen decided to promote Cech, and the rest is history.

Get him signed up NOW.
He will be our new Number 1.
He's not coming just to warm up our bench.
He is still a top quality keeper who is proven in the Premiership.
