Welcome to the Chelsea Vs Spurs Match Thread! COYS!

We want to bring the joy back into match days as these threads have just become full of over the top from at least a handful of posters. While we understand and have the same frustrations on the team and the performances the constant beating on the same players for just being picked is tiresome the same with going over how we didn't get more players in during the transfer window. We would rather not limit peoples access to this thread, so please before you hit post just read your post back...

STREAMING SITES

We cannot allow the posting of links to Streaming sites/apps and as a result of that do not allow posts asking for them as they invariably result in someone posting a link. Please do NOT hint at having, post or ask for links to streaming sites. The latest 'clever' way around this is to drop hints. That'll have to stop too I'm afraid as again, it results in people posting links.

Really looking forward to this one. Sure it will be tough, and yes we might lose, but surely we are going to give them a tough game. ATM I fancy a draw, which will be good

Hopefully we are ruthless with the chances we get, which is typically what they do to us.

Really fancy us to get the 3 points this time

Have a good feeling about this. Chelsea are beatable and we can take advantage of them not firing on all cylinders yet. Don't think we'll see much different in team selection from Southampton, injuries aside, and I think thats good for this game.

Not sure if it’s too early to play them?

Never a good time to play them - no matter how disorganised they look they always seem to pull out their best form against us. It's been almost four years since Son's wondergoal at Wembley and not one Spurs player has scored against them in the league since...

You would think that us having a settled side with them having to integrate loads of new signings and not having a proper CF means that logically we've got a chance, but it never works that way when we're playing at Stamford Bridge. Pick someone random as they'll score against us - Koulibaly or Loftus Cheek IMO.

They'll be up for it alright. They always turn up against us.

However I think we're going to cause them all sorts of problems.

If Kane and Son are on it I think we could open them up several times.

Never felt more confident.

I'm going 3-1 Spurs.

I dont think it is, we should have a fit first team. Also, some of the recovering stars should be fully fit or fine for 20 minutes. Plus Richarlison is back, so I think we will have 16 good options to use.

Didn't think they looked too good v Everton. Silva looked like he'd tweaked a hamstring and Koulibaly ran out of gas and they have no depth at CB. I think they'll use Cucurella to try to contain Deki. Really looking forward to this one.

It will be interesting to see what difference having a full week to prepare makes.

This early in the season, I'd rather have had literally any other fixture. We didn't struggle against anybody like we did against Chelsea last season.

But at the same time, I have a feeling we're here to make a statement about just how much better we've got since January. And there's no better place to do it than at the Bridge.

The formula for winning the league is to beat the teams you expect to beat, and not lose to your rivals. A draw against Chelsea would be a good result. A win would be huge...

Great time to play them. I'd love it if we batter them at their place. Looking on The Shed End they aren't that confident.

God speed.
The performance needs to be better than Today or we'll lose.
Conte will set up his team exactly like Everton did today.
They'll just be better drilled defensively and Kane/Son and Kuleveski will punish us if we give them the space Evertons front line got.

Sadly see a loss here. No Alonso to bail us out as well. Hopefully we can fall back on our luck with Spurs.

Well, this has come far too early, in order to get anything out of the game we’d need to almost stifle our own development in a sense, conservative/safe choices/kill momentum. No easy games in the league though, once fitness is there.. no excuses regarding how we set up.

Have season a few articles saying Mount, James, Chilwell and Havertz were so bad against Everton that they are hoping TT drops the 4 of them for this game.

I assume Spurs will keep the same lineup from their game against Southampton, Conte's tactics are gonna be similar to Everton's but Spurs have more quality in front.
Winning here would give us a nice boost of confidence and positive vibe, but losing here will do the opposite and that's what I'm afraid from to be honest.
I'm optimistic, I trust in the team and believe we can win, especially at our home!
I'm pretty sure Tuchel won't change the formation especially when Spurs are playing with the same formation, so he will play the regular lineup.
I'd like to see:

-------------------- Mendy -----------------

--- Azpilicueta - Thiago Silva - Koulibaly ---

James ------ Kante --- Kovacic ----- Cucurella

---------- Havertz ------ Sterling ---------

------------------ Broja ----------------
Against Dier, Romero and Davies we need some options in the air.

Don't see us losing to the Spuds at home, yet they are on form, suggests a draw.
Hopefully Kovacic is fit for Spurs.

Well we didn't exhaust ourselves yesterday, more walking football next Sunday in prospect , I'm dreading it !

Whatever happens I'll just be happy it's out of the way early. I do feel it's a good time to play them with a new defence and frontline while we're pretty settled and a much better side since those three defeats.

I despise this lot more than any other team. I want is to humiliate them. Outplay them completely..... then my dream ended when I realized its Chelsea, Tuchel and last seasons results.

Anyhow.... I'm not filled with dread as i was last season.

I bet this goes into Chelsea's "What our Opponents are saying" forum, and gets classified as Spurs fans being typically deluded after just 1 game.

Wont blame them, though.
