Totally agree which is why we should really make them work for it.

Will be gutted if we give them a soft goal/man sent off/penalty...particularly if its early enough.

Just praying we make a game out of it. Nothing worse than gifting them the points.
Absolutely - so many times against our nearest rivals we've shot ourselves completely in the foot by committing football hari-kari.

Goes without saying, we need to clinical if we are to get anything out of tonight's match but much more important is that we remain resolute at the back, be tactically on point and be structured when we don't have the ball, which i'd imagine will be 60-65% in their favour.

It seems the vast majority on here want to see a continuation of the positive side of our game that we showed against the toffees while accepting that as it's the Russian mafia we'll probably get stuffed.
Makes sense based on our non too impressive start to this season.
However, call me barmy if you like, I believe we can win this game and look forward to a really entertaining match without any negative ref. influence.

The huge weight of expectation is on Chelski. No bad thing. If we keep our heads we can upset the apple cart.

I'm kind of tired of feeling like, "right, this one's going to be the one where we go head to head with the big boys," so tonight Matthew, I'm predicting 5-0 Chelsea and us to finish with 8 players on the pitch. Hugo to get sent off within 3 minutes of kick off.

In the same way players shouldn't be dropped because we won, Soldado shouldn't play just because he scored. We have a 25 man squad for a reason, if another player or formation is better for this particular match then we should go with that. I doubt Mourinho would ever play a player purely on sentiment or an attempt at confidence boosting as he will be solely focused on that match in front of him. We need to adopt that mentality, not just think that we should play out strongest XI for every single game as we will end up playing like the Spurs of Redknapp's last three months.

Sadly, player for player and position for position they are better than us. We could argue about who is the better keeper, but that isn't enough. We just need to park the bus and catch them on the counter. The good news Costa isn't playing, but we all know what Drogba has done over the years. I can see Lloris keeping very busy tonight! I'll still be 100% behind the team, but I am going into this with no high expectations.
