I was chatting to Rick Villa (the SC poster, not the ex-Spur) about Eriksen the other day. RV for those who haven't met him is a Danish giant! Anyway he sounds fairly cautious about the excitement over Eriksen, and pointed out that he's still very young and learning.
I'm going to keep that in mind, and I hope others do too. I guess the same could said about Lamela as well. Very excited about both players, but we're not expecting too much too soon.
Very fair post and I agree with most of it and about him disappearing in most matches, last season he was brilliant at the end of the season and kind of shunned this criticism as he was controlling matches. As I believe I've pointed out before on this forum I'm not so sure that Christian Eriksen has what it takes to break through at the highest level.
He is a great great talent, but have had problems with disappearing in the matches. HOWEVER this could all relate to the fact that he is only 21 years old (something I think us Danes kinda often forgets, since he has be named as the biggest danish football talent since M.Laudrup).
I sincerely hope that he will hit the ground running as he might as well could prove to be the next big thing - He does have the talent to do so.

As for him coming here I think he is coming here with a chip on the shoulder as he has been the last toy left on the shelf tbh. Dortmund, Liverpool, AC and etc. all seemed to be interested but instead went for other targets even we did with Willian, this make him want to prove a point and be the making of him imo
I think you have got the wrong end of the stick in terms of what he said. When he said there were very few options I think he meant that in terms of clubs he was willing to go to. There was a queue around the proverbial block for him, he just wasn't interested in most moves.
Martin Jol likened him to Sneider and VDV.
Not if we play 4 2 3 1The only problem with starting all three is it will shunt Eriksen out the left and I really would prefer him in a classic no.10 position. Agree though that Holtby could be a key player this season.
Not if we play 4 2 3 1
I think he'll be our new VDV
I can't believe some of you are suggesting we have finally found our set piece taker.
Look at Bentley, Sigurdsson etc. hell even VDV! Everyone knows that once a player gets a Spurs shirt on they cannot beat the first man.
It will be 4-2-3-1 on paper but more often than not the two outside players in the 3 will end up out wide and I think Eriksen is a bit wasted there.
Nice options to have though.
