We have some good youngsters! Hudd was on the ball a lot 1st half and used the ball well. Ade won everything in the air, looked fairly sharp and interested. Kane was unlucky not to score.

So, we've had two pre-season friendlies against weak opposition and only managed to win one of them by 1-0. With the fact that Bale was the scorer in the first game, and didn't play tonight, I wonder what all my Gooner mates will be saying to me tomorrow at football training?

I was at the game tonight but nothing really to report.
Defoe looked sharp when he came on, as did Harry Kane.
Townsend was the stand out player for me, looked dangerous every time he had the ball and ran with it.
Rose and Falque linked up well in the first half down the left.
Ade was lacklustre.

On my phone so can't write much, we weren't bad though, their keeper was man of the match. I'd estimate we had 65% of the ball. It was a typical pre season game with loads of subs and not much of a flow to the play.
Rose looked good, got forward all the time and was tidy at the back. The thing is, Colchester were poor and didn't really test us, hopefully the teams coming up will push us a bit more. No need for any doom and gloom though imo

Yeah pre-season is definitely reflective of the proper season - I mean when we won all our pre-season games by a mile under Ramos, including beating Bilbao 5-0 in the final pre-season game, that was exactly what happened when the season started wasn't it...?
