Er.... I never mentioned Kane. It was Townsend and Lennon. They're actually in form. They're playing at their best which isn't good enough. Townsend has done nothing since a small purple patch when he played for England. Lennon been useless for years. Welbeck for these two is a no brainer.

Sorry but neither you nor I have any idea if either (or any) of our players are 'playing at their best'. That's something only the players themselves will know, or of course Pochettino. That's his job.

Where are you getting this idea from?

Look at the squad size of the Man City team, Arsenal team, Chelsea team, and Liverpool team from last year.

All top 4 teams had squads all in the range of 24-25. Not at all 30 players.
I think you'll find they had a few more names than that when it came to covering the 4 competitions for the year. Factor in that we're currently in two competitions from which we can qualify for the Champions League and you're basically engineering the squad to compete heavily on two fronts.

We're in a good position to do that, and we can happily bring in more home grown talent for the EPL.

Whinger keeps telling anyone who'll listen that he's not in for a striker as he's already got enough players who can fulfil that role while Giroud is out of action, so why anyone reckons they're in for Welbeck, I have no idea.

At his press conference yesterday morning, Mourinho told anyone that cared to listen that no new additions would be made to his squad. Remy is due today. They lie.

Rodriguez is a far better player and will be available in Jan. A 6-month loan would be perfect.

I don't agree with this.

Poch made Rodriguez perform to his potential. No one was talking about him 18 months ago.

Welbeck is much more talented. Has great experience at both domestic, European and international level. If Poch can get him firing at anywhere near his potential he could be the best signing we make this summer.

Sorry I can't copy and paste on my phone but JJ has done a bit if a Q and A on twitter answering various quiestions suggesting we will might get 2 loans but nothing else. Someone asked about a big signing in which JJ replied with "is DW a big signing?"

Sorry that this isn't concrete but I'm sure someone else will find the actual quotes (y)

Rodrigez (25) has always been a very good if underrated player since his Burnley days, his big problem ATM is the injury.
Welbeck (23) is a good versatile player and a tad younger.

Both are equally competent players for me with quality skill sets 'when fit'!

Welbeck in now. JR in January and move on Lennon & Townsend - Lovely jubbly. I do have a slight affection for Townsend though - would like to give him to January before we cash in.

The more I think about this, the more I'm coming round to it.
He just gives another option anywhere in that front 4.

I doubt whether they really want Remy, but are buying to prevent others getting him on the cheap.. Mourinho has history for collecting players so others can't have them...

I guess so. If it was close then I guess he wouldn't be there when you consider Cleverly isn't in the bench with Villa around the corner
Not surprising. I feel like this one has deadline day loan written all over it.
