You keep talking about 'his other contributions' but I've shown you stats that show they are in line with your two darlings and you just ignore them? But ok, we aren't basing this on goals or assists, or any other recognised statistic, or any piece of evidence at all. Just on your anecdotal evidence and anyone who doesn't have such a broad, encyclopaedic knowledge of football can't comment on whether we should spend many millions on replacing a player with other players with similar stats. What a great debate this is.
I repeat:

And to answer your point would you allow me a little latitude? Have you ever seen either of them play outside of our first CL game? If so, how many games? Answer those and I will respond. My point being if you only understand football and a players ability by going on squawka then... Because judging by your question I can only assume you have never seen them play...in their inferior league.

Simple questions. I asked for latitude in answering a question with a question but they are simple questions. You won't answer them because you haven't seen them play so you think your ignorance will 'lose' you the debate. It won't as I don't care and can already tell you've never seen them play save for probably our fir CL game. But the point is a player is more than sterile stats.

Dele's play is justified by stats but if you watch him you realize he lacks in many areas. This isn't FIFA and a players contribution to a team effort is not dictated by stats. They should be used to explain and characterized a players game retrospectively. But for those that cannot evaluated using their eyes and understanding of the game they resort to stats, with little understanding of how they are derived and less understanding of how they should be applied. Look at every ignorant English pundit with the Modric conundrum...he needs more goals in him. No he doesn't and didn't as he was always just perfect they way he was. That is unless you would class Frank fat fuck Lampard as a better player. He did score more goals and as we know goals are most important.

Just watch dele's goals for us, his showreel on YouTube is incredible .... then remind yourselves that he's 21. 21!!!! Then feel incredibly lucky that we have him. He scores every type of goal against every type of opposition. 39 goals in 109 appearances for a 21 year old is very special.

Cost us yesterday, as well as sorted out an assist. Classic Dele. He has a lot to sort out before he is an "incredible" player.

Even though he’s not in his best form he still works hard for the team. I wouldn’t mind betting he’s in the top 3 in our team for average distance covered during a game. I’d also imagine he’s top/2nd for most sprints per game.

Janssen looked good on YouTube as well. And wasn't he only 21?

An assist that was assisted by the gluteus maximus of a West Brom defender? They all count, boys-don't let anyone tell you different.

I thought this was a new thread. Took me a while to realise that the first posts were not about the game yesterday, but one played about a year ago.

Interesting that. A year hence and we're still seeing the same shit. The problem isn't necessarily the 'shit'. The problem is that it is the same shit.

Alli has been playing bollocks lately. That's unarguable.

I can't help but think that the "age bears inconsistency" thing is a red herring.

Does age mean that you can't control a ball one week from the next? And do the things that you've been able to do for probably 10 years prior?

I understand not being able to influence a game every time that you play at that age, but the basics shouldn't escape you, surely?

Yeah it does. Because age is being put forward as the reason for his inconsistency. Bad form means usually straightforward things become a struggle.

Quite. He lost the ball under challenge on Saturday. It happens.

Fantastic people. So what is the explanation (and by that I mean 'excuse') for all the times his control was shit when he was on his game/scoring goals and/or not being challenged (as if there is often a time when control is not being challenged or threatened)? When you stick the dismount of your mental gymnastics I would be thrilled to hear your answers. As some point the mind will tire of making excuses for that which isn't and start to see things as they truly are.
