when is pochettino gonna let loose dele alli

i want him to start soon, or atleast be a coming on 60/70th min regularly

his extra energy & quality should be out there but i'm concerned poch won't use him very often, being more on the cautious side, even after 1 point from 6

in pre season it seemed like he was playing him as a deeper midfielder .. he could be one of our '3 behind kane(?
since lamela can't find form & may leave soon, we're lacking there already

do you guys expect any game time for alli sooner rather than later

I've not seen our games so far but i'd guess you probably won't see him until he's been played in the Europa first, TBH that's what i'm expecting with most of our new signings and academy baring injuries. Seems to be the planned/preferred way with our yoot...

Poch is pretty methodical with bleeding new players in; it's obvious he wants to see how current 1st picks will respond to the competition. It has helped Rose for sure and has now given Walker a nice little kick up the arse and does give you the ability to raise the performance of the whole squad if you do take that time.

I, personally, would be a little LVG about it and bring players like Alli in early to scare the life out of the player competing for his position and turn the heat right up from the off.

He should have come on vs Stoke to add energy to the midfield, that's for sure.

--------------Mason Alli---------
Dembele----Pritchard----Eriksen

Would love to see this midfield asap. A young, tenacious and creative high tempo midfield.

I can dream can't I :)

Slowly but surely, definitely would have like to seen him get some time against Stoke though.

I watched Delli all second half warming up on the touchline from about 49th minute through to 94th minute. When Poch came out in to the technial area he would double his efforts to be noticed and become a thought in Poch's mind.

For that dedication and persistence alone, I want him to start soon, but used sparingly, unless he sets fire to the place.

Why use him sparingly? He's had over 70 games at senior level.

very enthusiastic and wants a chance to shine, often that can lead to mistakes and naive on-field decisions but he looks to have a great future, i don't want him stuck as the 4-5th option off the bench for too long then fade into reserve obscurity, pochettino has used quite a few younger players in his time here, maybe it would be a step too far to have alli in there more regularly, but he deserves chances in the next few games , give him a stage and let him light it up

The top kids who have been shown to be in line for first team action this year (via preseason) will slow but surely get game time as subs and in cup matches and the quicker the are able to impress the quicker they will become first team starters

There's no need to rush them, no need to put extra pressure on them. I expect to see him and Pritchard getting their chance in the few weeks

I think people forget the human dynamics in play when building a squad. This is not a computer simulation - there are real people involved, with real egos to manage.

I think Alli will be given the same opportunities that Kane got last year. He'll start in the Europa and Cup games, and he'll get some sub appearances. Once he has proven himself in the games, he may get an opportunity in league games - depending on how the players in front of him are performing.

If he is really standing out - Poch may look for different roles for Alli. But, he is not going to force him into the line-up until Poch is sure that Alli is the better choice than the players in front of him.

Alli is young and hasn't played in the premier league. It makes sense for him to be a bench player who comes on with about half an hour, twenty minutes left, to demoralise and take on tired players - it'll be more beneficial for us and will help build his confidence. Right now, you put him on against someone like Charlie Adam or whoever and the second he tries a step over he'll get sodomised and be out for months.

Start him in cup games, sure, or in Euro games, give him a taste of the kick off here and there but to shove him straight into the side in front of players like Mason, Bentaleb, Dembles, etc. would make no sense.

There's more risking playing Dier in midfield than Alli

What's that got to do with the price of fish? Dier is obviously being used in a DM role which he's done before, apparently with some success, and hasn't shamed himself at all thus far - why would we take out a DM and add ANOTHER attack focused midfielder? Are you of the "score one more than you" camp? Don't care if we concede twelve, as long as we score thirteen?

Bet Ozzie would've loved to have gotten his hands on our squad with the formations he used to play (Y)

No I was more referring to the likes of alli and onormah when I mentioned preseason

Pritchard we know is on the cusp of first team action following poch's comments and his form in the championship

He was injured playing for England youth and didn't feature in our preseason
