Alli is young and hasn't played in the premier league. It makes sense for him to be a bench player who comes on with about half an hour, twenty minutes left, to demoralise and take on tired players - it'll be more beneficial for us and will help build his confidence. Right now, you put him on against someone like Charlie Adam or whoever and the second he tries a step over he'll get sodomised and be out for months.

Start him in cup games, sure, or in Euro games, give him a taste of the kick off here and there but to shove him straight into the side in front of players like Mason, Bentaleb, Dembles, etc. would make no sense.

What's that got to do with the price of fish? Dier is obviously being used in a DM role which he's done before, apparently with some success, and hasn't shamed himself at all thus far - why would we take out a DM and add ANOTHER attack focused midfielder? Are you of the "score one more than you" camp? Don't care if we concede twelve, as long as we score thirteen?

Bet Ozzie would've loved to have gotten his hands on our squad with the formations he used to play (Y)

He's played against players who are just as tough as adams in league 1. He has started against man utd, got 3 assists and motm. He has played over 70 games at senior level. He was nutmegging real madrid players in front of thousands of people.
Let him start and see what he can do.

The top kids who have been shown to be in line for first team action this year (via preseason) will slow but surely get game time as subs and in cup matches and the quicker the are able to impress the quicker they will become first team starters

There's no need to rush them, no need to put extra pressure on them. I expect to see him and Pritchard getting their chance in the few weeks
Disagree. Chuck em in.

He'll no doubt be tested against cup sides first before being given a start in the league.

--------------Mason Alli---------
Dembele----Pritchard----Eriksen

Would love to see this midfield asap. A young, tenacious and creative high tempo midfield.

I can dream can't I :)

It looks nice in that Eriksen is in his (IMO) best position and that Alli and Pritchard are present, but this is the type of setup we need to move away from IMO. I'm just sick of us have slow inside wingers, we need players who can get in behind, worry defenders and stretch teams. I think it would be capable of playing nice football, but I also think its easier to defend against.

Impatient much? We saw how Pochettino used Kane last season without throwing him in the deep end too soon. I'm sure Dele Alli and Pritchard will get plenty of minutes this season. I think early on Poch will opt more for the tried and tested before bringing in some of the youngsters.

I am not too sure now is the time for him, as I thought Mason and Dier played really well together against Stoke and with Bentaleb having a wobbly start, I think they should play against Leicester.

I think Alli, Pritchard, Yedlin, Carroll etc will be given a start in the first cup or European game - depending on the draw of course.

Im pretty certain that had we go the 3rd we would have seen Alli or Trippier.

At 2-1 up and massively under the cosh i would have been horrifed to see a 18 year old handed his premiership debut.

Getting his first Prem goal so early will do him the world of good. I have a feeling we may have made one of our best ever signings here.

Good lad. He'll score a few more goals this season because he gets in the box and runs past the striker, something the current squad is lacking. Only Mason runs past Kane i'm hoping Clinton will do this too.

Still not sure I'd start him in the league just yet. We did the right thing with Kane - plenty of Cup games building his confidence, and then release him in the PL whilst he's in hot form. Hopefully we'll do the same with Dele.

Where are you going to play him though?

He isn't a pivot CM, and he isn't creative enough to play as a no10.

He is a box2box midfielder like Paulinho.

Unless the manager adapts then he won't fulfill his undoubted potential.
