With A Smith going to Newcastle apparently now Man U have the fund and the space to buy Berbatov...it looks more likely that this transfer is gonna happen..just fear the worst...hence why we r paying this ridiculous figure of 16 mil to buy D Bent..jus think about it..why would he come here to play as a 3rd striker...would it enhance his england prospect!?...i hope Berbatov will stay..

Bent in = Berbatov out ? :(

timesonline

date: 13/07/2007

Bent’s expected arrival will raise uncertainty over the future of Defoe, Dimitar Berbatov and Mido, three of the four frontline strikers already at White Hart Lane. Tottenham may be forced to accept about £10 million for Defoe because the England forward is unwilling to extend his contract – which has two years left to run. Defoe, who has turned down a move to West Ham this summer, would probably consider a move only to a top-four side. Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea have showed interest, but they have other targets.
There are strong rumours that United will make a fresh attempt to sign Berbatov. At 26, the Bulgaria forward may feel that he needs to make a move to a club with an established Champions League reputation within the next two years.
Tottenham have told Berbatov that he will not be allowed to move this summer, but he is thought to have a gentlemen’s agreement to leave for a large fee at the end of next season, if Tottenham have not qualified for the Champions League.

I'm concerned now ! :-|

can anyone help me about this ?

the fact reains he will be a spurs player for the 07/08 season. If we finish in the top 4 there is a good chance he will sign a new extention if we finish 5th or lower he may expect the club to allow him to leave if he wants to

i'm sure we tried to extend his contract but it obviously wasn't in his best interest to do so

Let's hope he will be here for another season since that's not as certain as some are prone to think. The summer is long and almost all big clubs bar Barca seek to sign a striker, e.g Real, Inter, Man U, Liverpool, Milan...For instance, if Real or Inter fail to sign Tevez, they may turn to Berbatov. There aren't so many players of that quality on the market right now.

I won't believe it until I see it.

We can easily pip the scum to fourth now, and possibly snatch third from Liverpool.
