I have read many of your posts over the last few months. I understand your concerns. I also wish I had your steadfast belief that we have an excellent squad of players, but they are underperforming because the manager doesn't know how to get the best out of them. That he has sucked all the confidence out of them. And that he is simply incapable of adapting to the 'modern' game.Kane and Son are going nowhere just like the team . The money Levy would want makes it untenable at their age ,
These players are practically all internationals and a youth team to be proud of the only thing missing is a man that can mould this lot into a force to be reckoned with it is just not going to happen with a yesterday man .
What else is there, sparx? It's unfortunately now inevitable.Think this is the problem. A rebuild with another manager surely means our big players will be looking to move on?
I agree. You’re totally right mate. The sad thing is we’re managed by accountants with a head over heart mentality. As long as we don’t take chances and financial risks, we’re going to suffer losses and decline. Poch did some special things and we didn’t build on it in the right way. With that approach we will always be playing catch up, the team on the pitch needed to come before the stadium.
I’m hoping I feel better by the weekend but I just don’t want to watch us anymore. I can’t be bothered to watch any league games anymore and I’m feeling like missing the final and checking the result after. I’m done with investing time on watching them. I know it sounds stupid with a cup final to play but it feels like the season ended today.
This is bad. We’ve had bad nights before, shocking results etc but this feels like something else. This feels worse.
I'd quite like it if we'd sold Dier, Sissoko, Winks, Davies and a few more.Levy has never backed anyone properly. But Mourinho has bought without selling. That's a lot better than Poch, Jol and AVB got.
I just can't understand the Rodon decision. Bit us on the arse. The players were poor today but Jose has to take a huge chunk of the blame.
We have only 3 pure CBs, yet he decided not to register Rodon for the EL. Toby is no spring chicken anymore and needs to be rested for some games. It would have been a good opportunity to play Sanchez with Rodon today instead of Dier.
A midfield combo of Sissoko & Winks has always been poor yet Jose still started with that pairing.
What you say is absolutely true, cooksie, but (and it's an important but) it may not be the whole picture. There has been talk that a large part of Poch's malaise was that he felt that Levy didnt' trust him enough with identifying players. Then there's the issue of Poch himself rejecting players who he felt weren't up to snuff.Pochettino had lost the team and key players. He was done at the club. That's been said on here 100 times.
This is precisely what a bunch of us been saying in the Mourinho thread, but few seem willing to see it. And those self-same people are the ones who accuse Mourinho of arrogance. Sheesh!Probably not a popular thought but this is something I’ve wondered about Poch’s painful rebuild for a while...
The core of these players faced the crushing disappointment of the battle of the bridge, and losing the title in that freak season to Leicester, and then suffered the heartbreak of losing the Champions League final...
I don’t think there’s any getting away from the damage to the group psyche two massive and heartbreaking failures like that can have on the mental strength of a team and I genuinely think that’s the heart of Poch’s painful rebuild...
Didn't Liverpool lose the CL final and win it the season after, and come close second in the PL and win it the season after?Probably not a popular thought but this is something I’ve wondered about Poch’s painful rebuild for a while...

Theory goes that their players are PROFESSIONALDidn't Liverpool lose the CL final and win it the season after, and come close second and win it the season after?
I'm sure it was devastating to lose out to Leicester and Liverpool but these are professional footballers.
