Dier has been great and the season Poch stuck him in midfield he was a revelation, despite being a mend and make do strategy (saved £18m on buying another DM). What's happened since then seems to be a regression. I feel his passing is sloppy, and the mistakes are there. But as a utility player in the squad, he's very valuable.

His best game was when Toby went down injured. He slotted in and was making tackles and blocks left and right.

He will never be a DM in my book, especially now that people have found him out. Put him under one bit of pressure and he will make a rushed decision which could put us under the counter.

Like most have said he adds utility, but I would much rather his utility be used as a RB where he can use his whipped crosses, but that would only be when we are in a pinch...which with three RB's will be never. So...he is a CB every single time and he just needs to get his head around that and have a chat with Poch about that being his preferred spot moving forward.

That being said, with our lack of winner in the midfield, I foresee us getting more Dier in the midfield until

- A) Victor comes back
- B) We sign another player like Charles Aranguiz from Bayer Leverkusen
