more than Bostock though! Cant believe he isnt playing - so much potential but wont get a game. what is harrys problem? also why isnt he playing ben alnwick when none of our keepers are top drawer? never gives him a chance to fulfil the potential he showed as a kit - we ve ruined him! hmm..........

Well, we didn't pay 5 million for Bostock or Alnwick, did we?

when Bostock starts chipping in goals for England we may want to consider if we missed the boat on that one, too.

btw, its worth remembering that most of Gio's appearances came at the ripe old age of 19, and he's still just 22.

tbh i prefer to base players on how they perform in league football and particularly for my club rather than international football against countries who are equivalent to league 2 sides. If i didnt do that, then I would think David Healy and Robbie Keane are the answer to all of our problems...........

Give him another chance and play him in a position where he can excel.

In the friendly against Villareal he came on at half-time and play behind the lone striker. And I thought he did really well and he scored. But then we signed VDV which effectively ended Dos Santos hopes.

well then look at how Defoe and Crouch did against the premier league teams last season.

you've made up your mind that GDS will never come good based on how he did as a 19 year old thrown into Juande's disaster. I think he's obviously got talent, is starting to come of age, and he belongs to us. We currently have probably the most anemic strikeforce in the prem and cant see any reason not to give him another try.

Gio's goal last night was special, in fact I thought both he and Pablo Barrera, another misfit in the Premier with West Ham, had excellent games, however in both cases their inabaility to replicate this level of play in the league, is their downfall. Gio undoubtedly has tremendous potential but he also seems to be his own worse enemy and until he knuckles down and stays away from the party culture many footballers succumb to he'll, sadly, be better off looking for work somewhere else.

I havent made my mind up that he cant come good - i just dont think he has done anything to justify giving him a chance. He has played for a number of clubs and it hasnt worked out for him and I dont think we are in a position where we can take such a risk, just like I dont think we can risk another season with Defoe and Crouch. We need to go out and get a proven striker who has cut it at a high level. I would happily have GDS back in the squad and give him a chance off the bench but that is all he deserves at best.

I didnt realise we had to give players a chance based on how much we paid for them. My apologies.

That's not what I meant. I just find it a bit odd to compare someone who is viewed as one of the worlds biggest talents and nominee to the Young Player of The WC with Ben Alnwick.

not convinced one of the worlds biggest talents would have left Barca to join spurs on a permenant transfer for less than £5m but hey its all about opinions.

When we bought him, yes.

HAHAHAHAHAHA

Such an immense talent that the worlds most successful manager of the moment, (averaging over 2 trophies per season), saw fit to sell him with his career ahead of him for 4 million quid.

Dean Marney scored a couple of pearlers in one match once.....case closed.

Yeah, Guardiola chose Messi, Eto'o, Henry, Iniesta and Bojan ahead of GDS when he was 19, he must really be shit.

His game in total last night was more impressive than just the goal,
the goal was just the cherry on the top.
See no reason why he can't do well in VDV's role,
let's use him in the UEFA cup and see how it turns out.
More talent in him than any british player.
