Well they've making progress on that as we speak by putting that clown Southgate in charge

At least Gareth doesn't come across as a scam artist, just a bit of a drip in terms of leadership. I mean, he might not be, but that's the impression he gives off. I seriously doubt he's got the charisma to make a shift on the side, he doesn't strike me as that kind of bloke who'd be comfortable doing anything too far from the rules.

Might be interesting to see what he does for a few months though, i mean, fuck it - what have the FA got to lose? They get to have their boy in charge, pull all the strings etc.

Can't see why anyone is trying to defend Sam here.

In an effort to secure a bit of extra cash he talks to strangers about how to breach regulations the FA themselves have become very hot on.

And he does this a few days after getting his dream job? He's an idiot and deserves what's happened.

Agreed. If he was a true professional he'd have declined the offer and been completely focused on his new job. He took his eye off the ball, and he'd certainly have done it during preparation too.

The worst thing is that he took his eye off the ball three seconds after being given the ball for the first time. Having craved the ball for his entire life.

Idiotic ball management I'd say.

Anyone having sympathy with Sam, have a look at the following company who run a hotel in Newcastle.

https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/OC383269/officers

Nothing wrong with having interests outside of football, but being a Director/investor in the same company as Wayne Rooney and Joe Hart should at the very least pose a question about conflicts of interest.

Makes you also wonder about the FA's due diligence - I found this inside three google searches.

So how would this work anyway?
Rich investor says I like the look of Kane - can I buy a 50% share?
Levy says sure - he is currently worth £50m - give us £25m and you'll get half of any future transfer fee.

I dont know how I feel about this - is it so different to Levy going to a bank and saying I've a £50m asset here, can I borrow £25m?
Because the bank would be straight on the phone to that rich investor anyway.
Is that Sam's work around?

Ironically as far as the FA are concerned, Sam has the funny (northern) speech impediment - he is not one of their own, even though they're no doubt up to their armpits in even dodgier deals. He's a dead man.

Yeah - put Hoddle back in. Everyone hates the disabled now, (or at least repeatedly vote in governments to hound them), so the press will leave him alone.
Yes, it is different, because if the player wanted to leave and Levy agreed a fee with a club, the bank can't refuse to sell their share and block the transfer, because they have interests in another club and can get more for the player by taking them there.

So who in the media will raise their head above the parapet next to complain about lack of opportunities for English managers? They're either shit or bent as fuck and in 99% of cases both.

The more i read, the more i think about this, i just can't help but laugh. I can't even put my finger on why i find this so funny, apparently i just do.

Might be the drugs. Or the lack of sleep. Or both.

Don't get me wrong, I loathe the press, they are the scum of the earth. They love to stir shit and sling muck

Dozens of my colleagues were arrested and attacked today for covering anti-government demonstrations. They were accused of muck-slinging and shit-stiring.

Four people I know have been killed in the last six years for uncovering corruption and criticising the government or politicians. They were excused of shit-stiring too.

The free press do you and every citizen of the Earth an invaluable service. Muck-raking is a vital part of that service, and is, in fact, a journalistic term.

I feel sorry for Sunderland. After about 20 managers, they finally get one that fits only to lose him to a gig that ended up lasting one game. I wonder if they'd take him back? Probably not. Could this all mean his career is over? Given his record for keeping clubs up I suppose at some point a club will get desperate enough.

Personally I never wanted him in the job in the first place, I remember a few years ago he was the subject of investigations or something that included his son, I remember seeing stuff that made him look like a right flash **** back then, which wasn't why I didn't want him but there's always been something about haddock face I didn't like.

And I know it was only one game but the signs were that he was also a disciple of the cult of Rooney.

Good riddance to bad rubbish.,

The truth is that this type of stuff - and worse - goes on in every country but their press don't go after their national team managers. It's great we've got such a good investigative journalism here but we do sometimes suffer for it. The only one to escape was Hodgson, which shows what a boring little man he is.

Muck raking is a vital service ? No it's not, it's a vital part of the media making money but a service it is not.

You got to feel sorry for Sam. When he took the England job he probably expected to be sacked after an embarrassing tournament failure. Or even a qualification failure disaster. Now he'll never get that chance to be a proper England Manager failure. Just a greedy ****.

Might have a quid on Sherwood. No, on second thoughts it's way too risky.
