Perfect job for sherwood no?
Before it gets out of hand, noncing, shagging players, or dangling his dick through a gloryhole, none of that is anything but rumour, so.......much like the Lamela business, it would probably be best left to discussing the facts.
Agree, that is utterly ridiculous.Seriously, what has our world become. Are people so fragile now that they would be offended by a sign about a Football Teams colours?
I would hope that actually no one would have been offended with the banner, and this is just "PC Gone Mad".
"FA cover up Tranmere’s ‘Super White Army’ banner
The Football Association covered up a Tranmere Rovers banner during an England Women’s match.
Prenton Park hosted the World Cup qualifying win between the Lionesses and Russia on Tuesday, with the hosts recording a comprehensive 6-0 win.
But the FA has confirmed it took the decision to obscure a sign declaring ‘Super White Army’ after several players shared an image of it on social media."

Yeah... to be fair I can see why they'd cover up that banner. Is it straight up racist? No. Is it something you'd wanna try and avoid promoting? Yeah probably.
Just a case of them essentially going 'You know what? This isn't the image we want to portray especially when our manager still has racist charges lodged at him'

Its not the fans fault the colour of their kit is white. We sing blue and white army but that's ok because of the bit of blue? The most racist thing you can do is making 1 rule for 1 and something else for others.
The tranmere banner is only racist taken out of context and its those taking it out of context that are racist not the club or fans.
To be fair our song is monstrously racist against the Hulk and other green people.
The more I read about this the more it stinks. If he requires sacking because of the comments he made to the black and mixed race players then that's what should happen but to sack him for behaviour they'd previously condoned is cowardly when it's obviously an excuse to avoid confronting the race issue head on. It's poor leadership from the FA and disrespectful to those who have been offended, I'm sure Aluko would have forgone the eighty grand pay off and have her grievances taken seriously. So I mentioned earlier that the Metro had quoted the FA's CEO as saying nothing illegal had taken place. Here's the quote:
Despite Sampson being cleared in 2015, FA CEO Martin Glenn, reviewed the report in detail and he decided, along with the FA board, that Sampson had ‘overstepped the professional boundaries between player and coach’.
Although it is not clear exactly what Sampson did, Glenn stressed that his behaviour did not reflect the type of conduct expected to be shown by an FA employee.
‘Nothing illegal to our knowledge took place,’ Glenn said.
‘It is an issue about the relationship between coach and players.
‘We have seen the information and decided the conduct was not what we want from an FA employee.’

Make of that what you will.
I'm a bit behind on this but TS said the FA gave her £80k to not talk about it but if she was quizzed she could answer any press questions. Is that Ebola comment even racist? Given there was an outbreak at the time I think most were concerned with anyone traveling from infected regions regardless of colour. Hell there were even travel bans, is that racist?
I guess a flippant remark about an African country could be regarded as xenophobic but comedians get away with worse every day. Stupid situation.
Still don't agree though. Its all just a bit pathetic now in this country full of snowflakes who get offended when someone says black or white. My main issue is that by taking it down it actually doesn't help the situation as its now plastered all over the BBC, had they left it there very little probably would have been said.

To be clear, I never said the banner was wrong at all. I just said I can understand the FA not showcasing it. They decided to cover it up and not make a big deal out of it, that's all. Sadly it's backfired as there's a story surrounding it. The banner itself is fine, just an issue that it could potentially be taken out of context and with all that's going on I'd image they wanted to avoid any unnecessary controversy.
So not a case of one rule for one and something else for another, just a case of being aware you're in the spotlight.
But covering it up is making a big deal of it surely? That's admitting fault with it. If it is potentially offensive enough to be covered up then it should be taken down altogether.
