Wenger has won the transfer window.
Sells Gervinho to Rome, paves way for Bale replacement Erik Lamela to Spurs. With replacement confirmed, Spurs feel less pressure to hang onto Bale and as a result Back down from their €120m valuation. Silly Spurs however forgetting all about that paedophile waiting in his child catcher's wagon, agree to sell Bale with more than 24 hours of the transfer window left. Wenger capitalises and pounces on the now mature (compared to when Wenger first scouted him at Bremen) Özil's availability, thus securing a world class talent while ensuring the loss of an even better world class talent from his rivals.
For the record this post is a bit in jest, I think Lamela will turn out better than Bale and would have been delighted if the transfer window shut a few minutes after Bale's departure. But Wenger has (if he actually this this through haha) sort of out smarted us at the present time since he has landed an already proven world class talent which helped in ensuring the exit of ours.
