Why would Madrid have to supplement his earnings? Only way that would happen is if Bale said that was the only way he would leave.

He has won trophies. He is at the biggest club in the world. His international position is secure. Why would he take a paycut to go to a smaller team?

If we could get Sess, a young attacker such as Kluivert and a serious would class start such as Bale I thing we would almost have the perfect team. Maybe sell Sissoko and GNK . I would still think we need another quality CM but even so, I think we would be able to contend. Still, if we got Bale it would mean no Pulisic which would be a shame. Saying all that, I don’t think we will manage Bale.
This of course all assuming we only lose Rose next summer, which I severely doubt.

Interesting one about supplementing wages.
I doubt any club has ever committed to such a clause in the entirety of football.
Perhaps if they were made to however, we'd see an end to ridiculous wages and they're getting more ridiculous by the season.

When you consider managers get a pay off when they get sacked, why shouldn't a player be paid off if they are sold with no transfer request or desire to go?

They will often have a loyalty bonus payable to them if the club sells them. It's not the same as supplementing wages ofc.

If they don't desire to go they don't have to. They cannot be forced. Look at ade.

Rose status makes no difference!
Don't really understand. Even when we sell him, we'll need a replacement, and Sessegnon, if we get him, will need time. I'd be surprised if he's he only player we lose. Toby, Dele, maybe more.

I agree but that's not really the point, I was meaning if Bale accepted a move to another club Real don't have to pay out his contract, unless Bale says that's part of the deal.

I hope you are wrong of course, but I agree.

Getting Sess does NOT depend on the status of Rose!
In your opinion, do you think we see Sess as a wing back or a wing forward? Ether way It would be a very sensible buy even if it’s for a large amount. I would worry tho IF we sell Rose ( which feels inevitable) and Sess becomes our number 2 left back as defensively he looks very raw.

If he does leave Real Madrid without submitting a transfer request and takes a pay cut to do so, I believe Real Madrid will be required to make up the difference in wages for the remainder of his current contract.

In any case I think he is past his best now and I would prefer to us to sign Zaha or Barkley etc players with room to grow and something to prove.

I'm not a huge fan of paying big money for a player later in their career, I think the downside risk is too great, he has a terrible injury record now.

I would rather sign Modric from Madrid, would be cheaper and very low risk.

Marco Asensio or Isco or others I would like.
Would rather we sign Bale than all those others. Zaha and Barclayo_O

More offensive. My opinion, also WB. Staff see him more offensive though.

I heard ages and ages ago....that the problem with bale actually is the training regime at Real Madrid from someone within the wales camp apparently they spend way to much time forcing him to follow Ronaldo’s weight training program.

They forced him to stick so much muscle on his legs and body it’s caused issues with lactic acid or blood flow and that’s what causes the injuries or something like that the rumour was apparently.

I was told if he was to come away from Madrid and follow a program that was to lessen time spent in the gym he would be fine after he has lost about a stone of muscle the welsh sports science department have apparently told him this but....he’s determined to win over the Madrid fans and club it’s his boyhood dream after all. He tried taking a plan back to the Madrid fitness team who scrapped it.

People also need to remember there’s been a lot of issues in his personal life recently.

He will leave Madrid within the next 18 months, but there’s only one way he’s coming to us and that’s if Madrid are taking one of

Lloris,Toby,Alli,Kane and then still we would have to oust united for him although I think he needs to be loved to see the best of him and that may very well drive him back to us

Take it you’ve never heard of one Emmanuel Adebayor then....based his career on supplemented wages!

Actually Leeds United supplemented Robbie Keane's wages for two or three years after he came to us.
Funny that that article said he'd negotiated a deal with Perez which, if true, leads me to believe it is likely to be some compensation for the wages he will lose by going to another club, a kind of buy out light, which could be thought of as supplimenting his wage up front.
As I've said before, I am not convinced about this story but if true I am convinced our Daniel will be working all manner of financial arrangements to make it happen at minimal expence to our club.
Just to add that I would very very very much like him back, come home Gareth you know you want to.:)
