You want to replace him with Bobby Zamora...enough said.

zamora, k davis, cisse, fuller, roberts.. any fucker would do more to link with his team and upset the op. defence than bent.

he's ok for the bench, until the summer.. hopefully next game will see us start with pav and campbell. who knows pav may even set up campbell like he did defoe the other day..

wonders never cisse

:duh:

Ranks alongside your master plans for deploying Dawson as a DM and the Hudd as a RM or a No. 10.

so your saying you would rather some one who up sets the defence rather than score goals and you want us to move up that table ?

Take away bents 14 goals where would we be and the fact that he probably gets the worse service of any striker in the prem atm.

why the big deal? bent has no future at spurs beyond the summer.. get over it.

if we were bolton or blackburn, maybe 'boro, bent would be a key player for us.
we're not. we're spurs. to dare is to do.

without his goals we would be massively in the shit, more so than now.

don't give me the 'we are spurs' 'to dare is to do' bollocks, that ship has sailed this season. We need goalscorers, he has scored 9 goals in the league this season. That is the big deal.

but surely if we didn't have bent and his 9 league goals, there would have been another striker in his place, one of the target men we were linked with in the summer perhaps, and they may not have had as many goals but maybe they would have affected the team in a better way, and pav would have scored more, and the midfield.. not a possibility, a probability.

Yeah definitely. I mean, Pavlyuchenko is banging them in in the league (3) so if it wasn't Bent it DEFINITELY would've been someone else.

Instead of making such ludicrous predictions, why not just credit OUR striker who scored all these goals and has been a model pro.

we've had worse strikers than bent, so I don't think we should be overly critical

yeah it's true, he has suffered at times this season from really bad service.

but i'ts also true that he has gained a rep with his team mates that he is quite useless in possesion of the ball. i mean you'd give the ball to defoe if you see him hovering outside the box/on the edge, all day long..

but bent? uh, no thanks

Yeah that same Robbie Keane who cannot buy a goal at his club, the one who's scored exactly half the amount of goals Bent has.

7 to 14 that is, by the way.

Also, if that's the case, what's Pavlyuchenko's excuse for scoring only 3 goals in the league? a third of Bent's total.

Why are the knives not out for Roman?

Because

a) he's new in the country and in the PL
b) he's played without a proper break since February
c) he still has 12 goals in 24 games in all competitions and has got us to Wembley

Right, so why are the knives out for Bent

All I want is a bit of consistency.

Pavlyuchenko isn't doing the job in the league at the moment, Bent has 9 goals. We can make excuses for Pav, but maybe we shouldn't be playing him so much if he's not up to the job yet?

Well done Dazza. I would like us to hang on to him atleast until next season.

Unless we can get a quality striker in, and i dont mean Keane, as it will just be swapping our problems in one area to another.

But i doubt we be able to get the right player for the right price, so we might as well hold on Bent, and give him another chance in the team.

Seeing as Defoe is injured, I guess we're stuck with Bent.

He did his best to miss the first yesterday. Completely miss hit it.

Yes Bent meant to miss it. If he had hit it 'well' but missed, I would say an England call up would be a must.

Agreed.

Darren Bent has been added to the England squad for Wednesday's World Cup qualification match against Ukraine.

The 25-year-old striker is our leading scorer this season with 15 goals in all competitions
and comes into Fabio Capello's squad following injuries to Carlton Cole, Emile Heskey and Peter Crouch in Saturday's friendly win against Slovakia.

Not bad for a limited shitty striker!
