Yeah, they want the glitz, the glamour and the fancy touches and flick ons.

Hats of to Bent, well played mate.

Who said Bent and Pav couldn't play together? It looks like harry has got them doing different tasks, pav dropping deep and bent playing off the shoulder of the last defender - it will work.

Big Up Darren Bent Petition

Now is the time to big up Darren Bent. We have just had Berby who was class but sulked around looking for a "bigger club" while we now have Benty giving 110% for the spurs.

Sign here to show Benty a big THANK YOU and let him know we are behind him!

I believe if we play to HIS strenghts he will do the business. many on here try compering him to Keane and Berba. but he worked his socks off today, i believe he and Pav can play together.

Granted Bent has scored a few but i still think his game is very very limited. He doesnt contrubute to team play, often dissapering for large periods and his composure and first touch lets us down frequently. He wont be the man to take us forward. That said, we have had three good results and now is not the time to be negative, wp bent.

Bent has been fantastic for us of late. 5 goals should not be ignored.

I am a fan, however I think we should keep him up the pitch for corners.
Three times this season (one might have been in pre-season) he has misskicked a clearance and almost cost us a goal.
Don't want to slag him off, as he is definitely our best striker currently and I am a big fan.

Out of interest, would you take Defoe back?

because lots of people on here seem to like defoe and want him back, but he doesn't contribute to team play and often dissappears too, infact I'd say he's much more limited than bent because he doesn't have any height or upperbody strength to hold off the opposition.

Thought DB worked his socks off today and did great for the pull back for Pav's goal plus the other chance where he brought the ball back for a dangerous cross from what looked a lost cause was great work. He harried and chased the whole game.

Fair play to him, I wasn't his greatest fan but he's growing on me.

Completley agree. He's a tad backwards when defending set pieces :)

I think he's done really well for us considering the circumstances. He's now got to the stage where there isn't a collective groan from the crowd if he doesn't hit the target. He's definitely putting in 100% and good luck to him.

For me, i'd prefer Bent as a number 3 striker. Too good for no4 but not good enough for 1st choice. His style of play suits the way we played our second half today, which was basically lumping it over the midfield. I'd rather not see us play like that except when we need to, like today. Which is why i think we'd do well to keep him as a no2 or 3 behind a top class striker. Difficult to choose between Bent & Defoe. Bent's obviously better in the air but i'd personally prefer Defoe, mainly because he takes more of his chances and i like the fact he's dynamic - the opposition fear him. But Benty had a blinder 2nd half, really put himself about and if he carries on like that, he'll be a crowd favourite soon enough.
