In reality, yeah they are professional footballers and great athletes, but also, many of them are not fully grown men yet, but in the younger stages of adulthood. In light of that, let them have whatever innocent fun that binds them together.

As long as they don't suck plastic nipples, it's all great fun. The more they celebrate, the more downcast will be their opponents, and that should be great as well.

I like it, it was a practiced celebration but it was a team celebration.

Gives the impression that this is a close knit team who get on well in training and behind the scenes and have a bit of a laugh together.

Sturridges weird dance thing and the like are solo celebrations, I don't think he practiced that as a joke with colleagues rather on his own in front of the mirror.

You get the sense that this current squad seem like a good bunch.

I think it's great, loved it the first time I saw it and loved it every time since.

Other fans can take the piss, call it cringe or whatever but if it was their players doing it then they'd love it just as much.

Time was when any celebration that couldn't be done whilst smoking a fag and holding a pint of bitter (not lager, you ponce) would have been frowned upon.

In the interview with Sky before the game on Saturday, Son said everyone has their own version and then joked that you're in trouble if you get it wrong
It's harmless fun and to me that shows that there's incredible morale within the team.

I'm honorary President of The Ordinary Folk Against The Rising Tide of Filth in Our Society (TOFATRTOFIOS for short), and as such I think the practice is depraved and should be banned immediately. I'm all for young chaps enjoying themselves and having some jolly banter, but this makes them look like a bunch of pansies.

A cartwheel on par with the efforts of a 5 year old, a roly-poly of a 3 year old, then the pistols for the grand finale, horrendous :p

Best bit was he didn't just get it out of the locker on the odd occasion for a laugh, he did it every single goal as if it was something of wonder :ROFLMAO:

The pistols just finished off the pure awesomeness of it all...

*pew* *pew* *pew* mudder frackers...

It's what it represents, guys who have fun, who like each other and play well together. That bond is crucial in a team game.
Yeah, everyone's happy when you score, but this shows that they as a unit took the time to come up with it. That's what friends do, no matter how daft it is.

Opponents cringe, but that's more out of misplaced jealousy (at the goals and camaraderie). If their team was doing it, they would equally be looking for ways to justify it.

Love how everybody (outside Spurs) is only just realising this, they had these special handshakes during last years trip to Barcelona and you could see it on some of the videos they all shared walking around the city.

Like @Riandor says it's a sign of how close the squad are and I LOVE IT... The only worry I have is Dier getting a bit jealous and taking Son out during training

I think i saw in an interview that one of the first things Pochettino did when taking over was to make everyone shake hands when greeting each other, to improve team bonding (iirc he said it's good to have contact) it's obviously just developed from that imo

I've been enjoying the handshakes more since I realised how much it's winding up fans from other clubs. They hate the handshakes.
