What's new

I think it's time we looked for new owner's.

A couple of years back I totally believed that by now we would be in there, mixing it with the big boys in the hunt for trophies.
Sadly that's not the case and looking at how things stand now,I really don't see us getting anywhere close in the next 10 years with our current set up.
We can't and won't be able to keep our top players and we sure as hell won't be able to afford to buy any top,top players or pay them the wages they want.
I thought we could overtake United one day but they are still the biggest club in the world.
We also now have City as a major financial force who have just won the title,Chelsea have renewed vigour after winning the Champions League.
Just look at the players they have bought already.
It's a joke.
They are the haves and we are the have-nots!
Sorry but staying with Levy/Lewis isn't going to get us a return on our season tickets other than the odd Carling Cup.
I don't want to sound ungrateful for everything they have done and they have worked hard and done some really good things.
However I now think it's time to call it a day and put a bit of pressure on them to sell the club on to a couple fat cats who will actually stick their hands in their pockets to invest it in our future success.
Who knows,a few protests and maybe Uncle Joe might loosen the purse strings in the meantime.

..They are the haves and we are the have-nots!..

I would rather see the club progress properly and let the powers that be get to regulate the game properly. FFP appears to be a joke, and I guess we'll just have to wait and see what the FIFA/UEFA bosses are made of. Letting rich oligarchs and sheikhs spend money like I do whenever I use the editor on Football Manager is slowly destroying the game.

If, or when, the proper regulations are in place it will be our time to shine.

I think we need to develop a drug that will temporarily turn us into rage zombies - that way we'll have great leverage in getting a billionaire to buy our club. (I just hope fans of other teams don't have the same idea - I hate those guys)

A couple of points:
1) the apostrophe in the title is in the wrong place, rendering the title weird
2) What do you mean - "we should look for new owners". How do you propose we do that? THEY own the club. It's not like we can run a beauty parade and decide on who we want to own us, they have to want to buy it off ENIC.

I happen to think that under the circumstances they've had a very positive impact on the club. Sure, they're not City's owners, or Abramovic, but they're extreme cases.

I'm happy with them personally, and think the opening post is conceptually really quite bizarre in every respect

Cool. You find the billionaires, I'll make the calls.

No probs, Ron. Are you on one of those scheme things?

Yeah that's right.

It's a sponsored programme called "get your club to be bought by a billionaire". I have to show my teacher that I'm gaining relevant work experience or I get ritually flogged at dawn by a collection of disgruntled dwarves.

Nothing out of the ordinary, just trying to make my way in the world.

We'd certainly be the 'have nots' if you had your way as you want us to sell the likes of Modric and Berbatov for the first offer we get.

The current board and owners have done a great job in comparisson to other similar size clubs and you want us to organise protests against them?

Just beggars belief!

We are making progress. We've finished 4th, 5th, 4th in the last three seasons.

We've got a strong squad and have money to invest. We've already bought the Ajax captain.

I'm excited by our continuous building process and believe we will start competing at a higher level each year.

With you on that. I remember my GYCBBB training. Happy days! Although it was tough as well. The dwarves in particular were exceptionally disgruntled (this was twenty five years ago, of course, when I was in infant school). BUt the easy part was where the billionaires all lined up and begged me to buy my club. Aaaah. Halcyon days.

Let's just see how things turn out over the next season, and if things don't go as we'd all hope...well...there's pretty much nothing you can do about it other than support your club anyway.

i don't agree with the OP but this isn't the case either. the ffp regulations are going to be the way the financial side of the game is administered for some time. they will not allow clubs outside of those currently on the inside to progress beyond a certain point. it is a stitch up job basically. similar to the stitch up job we were involved in when forming the premier league. we are in a position where we might well be able to make progress and join the cabal but there are numerous other club with great histories that simply won't be allowed to dream of the top table for a very long time. it's a pile of bollocks frankly.

NO! We must protest, Spurger! We must raise high the banners! Stand and fight all ye faithful. Let us storm the White castle of...er... Hartlane and remove the usurper, the vile Lee V, from his throne. A throne, prithee, made up of the bones of supporters he has tempted in with promises of cake and sweetmeats.

Rise up ye faithful of Tottenham! You have nothing to lose but your sense of proportion!
