I feel bad for the lad tbh. He’s clearly being poorly advised by his vulture of an agent, which can’t be good for only an 18 year old

If it were me I'd sack this one off. I think it's going to be nothing but hassle in the long term. Fortunately there are other options. :)
Leipzig can have Moriba, we can have Sabitzer.

Win / win.

Hey now I didn't frantically spend the last 20 hours building the Moriba hype train out of the burned out remains of the Ndombele hype train for no reason! We need this kid...

In all honestly it just seems sad to me this kid seemingly has agents not acting in his personal interest and no obvious legal recourse for removing them or forcing them to take the action he desires.

Agree. Expect Leipzig to have money only for either the exorbitant agent fee or Barca fee. If they pay for agent, then they are hoping Barca will fold.

For us to get him now, Barca has to hold their nerve and not sell him at all, if Leipzig offer was cheap

I just hope he actually does want to come here, if not im not so warm to the idea, in addition his father / agents will defo be a major issue to use at some point down the line

The Barça prefers the exit to Tottenham

Tottenham willing to pay those 15-20M (with variables)

The agents want Leipzig and can last a year to go free ?

Who will decide the future? The player? Pope? Your agents?

True, but maybe Leipzig had only a certain budget for the transfer and due to the high demands of the greedy father and agents they said for example, our budget is 15m euros, we give you half which appeases your (greedy) demands and the rest we will offer to barca and see how that negotiations goes maybe? hoping also Barca might take some money rather than lose him for free in a year. Leipzig always seem to work within a certain range in transfers and never go away from that model.
It is strange whenever you are buying a player the parent club are greedy robbers, when ever we are selling the buyers are tight arse individuals

I think these opportunities are certainly risks, but I do think it's most likely a win/win for the club if he's brought in.

You get him on a long contract where if things go wrong, you at least make your money back selling. Or he develops into a player that's worth 5x what you paid for him.

Moriba played for Spain's youth team. Maybe met Gil and Reguilon? Perhaps get on the blower to him guys...

I just get this what if feeling if we don't get him. I know it won't be the club's fault, but something tells me this will be one we regret down the line.

I think El papa here means “his dad” rather than the pope, unless of course the Vatican has an interest in Barca

Haha I love it “Pope?” Papa here should be translated to “His Father” but I like the idea the Pope has a say.

I find this case so depressing. Firstly a kid exchanged for huge money at a young age, now being instructed to ignore his footballing career for one full year to chase yet more money in Germany. I presume his wages will be the same or even more at spurs, it’s just that his “owners” (clearly they don’t qualify to be called representatives), are chasing a fatter payday one year down the line.

And all this money chasing for what? If this kid is half as good as he is rumoured to be, he will making himself and his family rich no matter what happens, as long as he plays football. This is just pure greed, scandalous from his father.

Are we sure it is for the money in Germany though? Maybe his dad and agent actually think he will have more opportunity to develop and play regularly in Germany?

Just screams a player that will be agitating for a move at the first sign he’s coming good. We can do better.
Yes, instinct tells me that if he does sign, this thread will be busy and divisive until the minute he leaves. Then again…that’s pretty normal.
