Suprised you made it through the 90s.

Expectations play a big part though. During the 90's we got used to being a bit shit and all we wanted was some flair players, a bit of excitement and some hope.

After coming so close in the last few years to establishingourselves, sliding back towards midtable would be a bitch.

I guess when I say I'm close to being 'done', I mean spending so much time watching it, caring about it, and talking about it. I'll always be a Spurs fan, but there seems less and less point in being emotionally invested in a sport that is dominated by teams bribing officials and generally buying trophies.
I bet you don't though. You know how many times I've said the same thing? :0)

It would be a bitch but I think it would be a good thing. Starting at the top, levy would have to be more realistic, no more top four minimum requirement against sides who have way more resources than us.

We'd lose players such as Soldado and Lamela people may say at this point, 'good, they have done nothing' but these are players of high technical ability that people were pissing themselves over in the summer, I assure you they will do well somewhere else and people will be bitching when we get Steve sedgely and Chris Armstrong type players.

No more big time charlie attitude over clubs such as Villa and Everton who have certainly won the league far more than us and our just as big as us if not bigger.

I totally agree with you about the big time charlie attitude but I've argued repeatedly that its an attitude that runs right through the club from fans, players, managers and board. We talk the talk but rarely walk the walk.

Even if it brought expectations down though, sliding down the table having failed to reach our potential in the last few years would never be a good thing.

I agree with this and would add that there is often also a lack of backbone with this when it comes to the crunch which is really irritating

have a word with yourself.

I'd love us to be successful but not if it means having more and more spoilt impatient brat moany fans with double standards in our fan base, perhaps if we go back to midtable, it would help people appreciate what we once had and maybe some would even go and support another club.

I am not really happy about some of our perfomances either, however what pisses me off more is some of the fans who think we have a divine right to beat every team we play. Some of them never go to games and sit with their X-Boxes winning all sorts of shit and think real football is the same.

I've actually read a lot of posts were people are saying they dont mind taking the odd defeat, but it's the style of play that most concerns them, I dont think any fan expects us to win every game, but do expect us to play attractive football. This seems to be a point of confusion for the AVB-ites.

Loads of fans (especially the older ones) think this. We are used to losing high scoring games, it's a spurs tradition.

Doesn't make sense when you factor that we achieved 2 top 4 finishes playing brilliant football. You can re-write history and pretend we lost every game 4-3 under 'Arry if you like though.

Expecting loyalty from players and the manager and not returning it in kind for one.

So you think we should back AvB over some sort sense of loyalty?

You dont think people should be disappointed in the direction our football is taking?

Nobody is above criticism but I think people calling for his sacking should remember he had a chance of taking a much better job during the summer but he didn't he stayed, if he had gone people would have moaned about him being disloyal.

Loyalty might not mean anything to a number of people but it means something to me.

You are right we did play some great fooball under Redknapp, but we also played quite a lot of shit games as well, you can re-write history and pretend everything was roses under Redkanpp if you like.

No confusion at all, there seems to be a rush to get rid of AVB after 16 months in the job by the anti AVB-ites.

Give the guy time and he may just shut up the knee jerkers.
