Sorry bud but I love that we do that. Football has become soulless and immediate enough, with too many clubs losing their identity through takeovers and stadium moves and foreign imports. Rolling out the old boys and celebrating our great history preserves our identity by installing a continuity between the glory days and the Premier League era.
Not many clubs can call on so many old boys who have won medals, played for their country and hold legend status and still have them come out and say that OUR club is THE club they still call home. We should embrace that we are so fortunate to have such an illustrious history.
As for irrational irritations: Townsend's overzealous celebrations when his mates score. I thought Soldado was gonna deck him in pre-season!!
Ye that's fine but we do it too much imo. Get some kids on the pitch or piss heads from park lane to try and score a goal.
