Is Levy getting blamed for Lewis mistakes?

Whenever we are laughed at for our lack of trophies

Some poor spurs fans comeback line will be" oh our future is brighter than yours because we have world class training facilities and best stadium in the world coming up"

And then they laughed even more
Does it effect you that much what other fans say then?

I'll offer you the advice I was offered on here when I moaned about the written/spoken media - don't read it and don't listen to it then you can't be affected/effected by it.

you're welcome!

I lived through some of those times - it was terrible being a Spurs supporter. Looking back, I'd much rather be where we are now and battle the ridiculous 'bottler' label than be back in the 90s where we weren't even considered worthy of a label.

Fan mentality surley would of been different? Ours back then was akin to West Ham now wouldn't it? They know they're shit and don't expect anything other than premier league survival.

I think that’s part of the reason, when your average you don’t expect much, but now we look like we are on the verge of winning something then fall down.

This I think makes fans and maybe even the manager/players probably feel frustrated. So near yet so far.

Yup that's always how I've seen it.

Funnily enough I've heard from multiple people that the 90s was a good laugh going to spurs.

I think the pleasure rooms have a lot to do with that ?

Maybe that is it perhaps everyone expects more these days especially society's throw away attitude to everything, I don't doubt the players must have been hurting over seeing a potential opportunity open up and us fan's all thinking the same that maybe this would be our time at last.
But what sobers us all up is the reality that it's taken us year's of plugging away to get where we are and yet we remain short in a few area's, but this season we have something to celebrate and that is the new stadium if nothing else to cheer about at the end of the season at least the new home has arrived.

Also we are let’s be honest the poorer of apparent top teams, we have a wonderful manager, great players but holes in a few areas of the team. Liverpool went out and fixed their holes and guess what they are leading the title charge.

We could be doing the same but for the lack of money. We are like the best looking car that just needs a few upgrades to be sorted but don’t have the money.

That being said our new stadium is unbelievable, we have a good future, the whole thing just seems right but for the final hurdle.

I didn’t mind most of the 90’s. We where nearly always a great team to watch with exciting individuals but our defence was often a shambles. Atmosphere was often pretty decent, billion times better than Wembley.

True but there is or was no guarantee that had we spent like Liverpool we could do the same although investment is needed clearly, knowing how luck pan's out at spurs we would of probably had the only season in existence when someone like west ham went and won it sometimes you just can't make it up.

It was so lively in and out of the ground also with T and his firm in full flow just ask Chelsea and west ham.

The final hurdle won’t be cleared while ENIC are our owners. They are more Kroenke than John Henry. The former sees his sports franchise as a dividend paying cash cow the latter believes in creating value through sporting success. Just look at their respective records with their US sports investments and then ask yourself which one ENIC most resembles. This hope that somehow once the stadium is finished ENIC will change their spots is massively wishful thinking. The stadium being finished is a marker for only one thing which is an ENIC sale, might take time given their asking price but don’t expect them to spend any cash while they still own the club. If they can’t get their return from selling it then they will get it through siphoning off operating cash flow. Quite sickening how they manage to hoodwink so many such that when they under invest year after year fans will make excuses on their behalf.

I can’t wait to see the back of ENIC but unfortunately if we do it will mean we are sold to some private equity fund that will leverage us to the hilt and bleed us dry to try to recoup the £1-2bn they paid to buy the club.

Neg rep if you like I don’t care, the above is the financial reality at our club, wishing it some other way won’t change anything.

I hope that’s not the case. Levy at the moment despite the delays in the staidum has a lot of goodwill over what we will be getting with the new WHL.

If going forward ENIC don’t properly support Poch, he leaves and we stagnate I think any goodwill would probably
evaporate.

Currently the building and development is seen as the reason for lack of investment, after the building work is done that excuse won’t fly.

Let me fast forward for you, after the stadium opens ENIC will trot out the need to pay down the debt line as to why they can’t spend, covenants in the bank debt setting a ceiling on wages as a percentage of turnover as to why they can’t increase the wage bill. I hate to break it to you but Levy doesn’t give a toss about goodwill with the fans. He owns 27% of ENIC, his legacy is maximising the value of that for his kids not delivering trophies to the fans.

You want to see what the stadium will do for the senior squad ? Just look at what the training complex has done for our youth. We have the best training facilities but the best youth players are at Chelsea and City because they pay more, way more than we do. Not much point having great real estate if you aren’t willing to pay the going rate to populate it with the best young players.

Last summer should have been the window where the club’s transfer policy changed, Poch alluded to that in May, the ITK on here said as much. I don’t think Levy bottled it, I think as far as he is concerned the Kane and Poch contracts were sufficient spending rewards to the fans for charging the highest gate receipts in world football. Based on much of the post window reaction on here I’d say he has judged that just about perfectly. He has numerous people in here actually mentioning Leeds in defence of his tight fistedness, when they do that you know he has won the PR war handsomely. For as long as Poch can over achieve Levy won’t change. He has only once loosened the purse strings which people seem to forget was a January window, that was in response to a relegation threat, because that really risked the value of ENIC’s investment. Don’t expect him to do the same again unless he sees a similar threat.

I don't doubt the majority of what you have posted is true, I mean, it has to be, you wrote it, I would like to ask if Spurs as an entity, sport or otherwise bring you even a crumb of joy?

Fuck a duck.

Lots of joy, just frustrating that we can’t reach our full potential.

I’m a shareholder too so should be loving what ENIC are doing for the value of my shares but I’d happily burn the shares if it meant we invested more in the team.

Let me reverse the question, does Daniel Levy have your everlasting support ?

I thought Tottenham was not on the stock market? I know they use to be.

Why would Levy have my ever lasting support? He is just some guy.

On saying that, I can't harbour that much resentment and angst/anger toward one individual. I can understand the frustration he causes, the bandwidth and paper wasted on him is funny as fuck though.

You don’t need to be on the stock market for the shares to have / increase in value. When Spurs de-listed the total market cap was about £80m, the asking price is now £2bn and there are buyers willing to pay at least £1bn, so the shares have been a great investment but I bought them more for a further connection with the club not to make a killing and as I said I’d flush them down the toilet in exchange for winning the league.

Well I guess we will just to have to agree to disagree. That “just some guy” has a very material impact on how our club progresses.
