I suspect the levy haters will be delighted we lost today as it highlighted our squad depth when our 6/7 best players aren’t playing.
Don’t be silly, we all want Spurs to win, we hurt when we lose, we would love to win all competitions spending no money but football doesn’t work like that. There are inevitable consequences to actions. So when you fail to strengthen a squad that is already fatigued by WC duty, is carrying its 2 most important CMs with long term injuries and has the only credible back up to your main striker scheduled to play in 2 international tournaments don’t be surprised when you pick up injuries. It isn’t bad luck it is utterly predictable and stupendously bad planning and management.I suspect the levy haters will be delighted we lost today as it highlighted our squad depth when our 6/7 best players aren’t playing.
Sorry to disappoint but once the stadium is complete the only thing on Levy’s agenda is an NFL franchise and a sale of the club.Levy has done so much for our football club. The entire infrastructure of the club has changed exponentially! We have a world class training centre for our players and he is about to deliver one of the best football stadium's in the football world. I think once the new stadium is up and running I would like to think the investment into the first team would then become a priority.
COYS
I’d like to ask the BSoDL whether they genuinely think Levy’s priority come the end of this season is getting Poch the players he needs or signing this deal with the Oakland Raiders ?

If you think the former please share the medication you are on because it is clearly some very strong stuff.
I’m no to an NFL expert but I believe those games are distinct from the Raiders changing their home for the season.Considering the fact they have declared the upcoming games to be played in London next year I'd say you need something else to make your point.
There is no way the NFL and their market will allow a team that is having the problems the Raiders are (on the cusp of moving to Vegas no less), to play a full season in London. It not only effects the Raiders, but all those teams who are due to play @ them ...I’m no to an NFL expert but I believe those games are distinct from the Raiders changing their home for the season.
Ok as I said I’m not an NFL expert so happy to defer to youThere is no way the NFL and their market will allow a team that is having the problems the Raiders are, to play a full season in London. It not only effects the Raiders, but all those teams who are due to play @ them ...
It won't be happening any time soon.
2020? Cool, lets hope they used the same contractors as Levy did, we might squeeze an additional season out of it.Thats different mate, the raiders would be outside of that schedule
They dont have a stadium next season and are looking for a new home, until their stadium is built in 2020
There has been a suggestion that they will play in two blocks of 4 games and that they would do it to test the idea of an outside franchise with the team visiting having a week off afterwards. There is no way the NFL and their market will allow a team that is having the problems the Raiders are (on the cusp of moving to Vegas no less), to play a full season in London. Now I have offered this up, it'll probably all fall into placeOk as I said I’m not an NFL expert so happy to defer to you
Considering they cannot/haven't announced the places the upcoming games are due to be played at (our ground being the hold up) I'm not sure there is a great deal they can do this season. Future seasons though ...There has been a suggestion that they will play in two blocks of 4 games and that they would do it to test the idea of an outside franchise with the team visiting having a week off afterwards.
I think the NFL would love the Raiders to have this as a test season for a london franchise
I just work on deductive reasoning, if Levy thought he had a shot of getting an NFL team at NWHL for a season it would explain the lack of a stadium naming rights sponsor thus far as he will rightly think that the price he can secure is much higher if he can offer NFL tv exposure to the sponsors. Now I have offered this up, it'll probably all fall into place
Onion - I think the logistics of it all still need working out over the course of a 16 game season, and if it were to happen, if ever, it'll be a new Franchise.
I personally think that the reason why they havent announced where the games are being played at, is because there is an element of truth to this.Considering they cannot/haven't announced the places the upcoming games are due to be played at (our ground being the hold up) I'm not sure there is a great deal they can do this season. Not all teams are happy to travel to the UK yet, some teams hate the disruption on their season. I guess there are more question marks surrounding it.
There is money to be made so I understand the link to old Gru, but a long way to go.
Yeah it crossed my mind, but that means it'd have to be a 6pm kick off every other sunday ... Logistically what with the delays to our new stadium you'd be hard pushed to see it happen.I personally think that the reason why they havent announced where the games are being played at, is because there is an element of truth to this.
The Raiders would love to go to the UK and so would the visiting teams as an away match
They have announced that there will be 2 games played at wembley and two at NWHL. Considering the Raiders is one of those games, makes me think 2+2=5
Yep, your delusional.Enic care more about the property around WHL that the clubs supporters or winning a trophy. We might be surprised by the people who would still buy. If we have the planning permissions and structural design work for the apartments complete already, and if there's other positive news regarding the Love Lane estate and general surrounding area then some may see it as an attractive investment. There's a PL/CL football club with the potential to become very famous plus the money-making side of the NDP, especially if property values in the area increase.
Not that I would want to see us sold btw, and I think that a sugar daddy investor would have plenty of other more affordable options if they really wanted a PL club. But the debt will have all been planned/leveraged against the expected revenues from the stadium and would be seen as a manageable debt from a business point of view. That's my take anyway.
Over the next few years we are hopefully going to see the next phase of the ENIC plan, and whilst I know a lot of people will be cynical about it I think that we will finally get to reap the benefits of the years of playing Scrooge in the transfer market. It's hard to criticise fans for believing that a bit of extra spending here or there would have seen a better trophy return (because it's almost certainly true) but I don't think it would have got us to a position of competing year after year. Given our budget it just wouldn't have been sustainable.
That chap you were chatting to on Twitter is a fairly good example of the split in fan mentality I think. He's clearly passionate about the club and wants to see us win things, but that desire to win something RIGHT NOW has trumped the desire to win things on a consistent basis. Apparently it's also destroyed his understanding of grammar!
If we win 10 trophies in the next 10 years there will still be fans who believe that ENIC are terrible and it could have been so much better - and they will have something of a point. However, where I personally think ENIC have succeeded is that any trophy success we enjoy over the next few years will be based around having a very good setup rather than having a lucky year. You can argue that any team winning any trophy will need a bit of luck along the way, but at least we aren't relying on that "once in a blue moon" kind of cup run luck any more.
