Will he start pre-season as early as tomorrow? It does say subject to a medical so I guess it might be a few days. Can't wait for our press conference.

IIRC last year there was one with brad friedal being our only signing o_O (so far). Or I could be dreaming that.

Love me some Disco Benny, but if Caulker continues to develop, BAE may be out as an automatic starter.

Kabul can bring the ball out of defence too. We have a very attacking first choice back four.

Thats the thing, we will now have 2 central defenders who like to bring the ball out of defence, i hope that wont leave us open at the back.

Struggling to see the relevance here, am I missing something?

Vertonghen is a CB, Caulker is a CB, BAE is a left back?

Three. Caulker is more than decent playing out of defence. He had to do it all last season with Swansea and is going to continue to develop whilst fighting for a shot behind Kaboul and Vertonghen. Great signing, a really classy addition.

Verts could easily play LB. plays it for Belgium, I believe. Clearly has the skill & speed.

Walker - Caulker - Jan - BAE

After some AVB love and attention.

My pants have the dampness of pre-cum.

I don't think Vertonghen sees his long term future as a left back. It will be interesting to see if Caulker plays much next year though.

Alright, well the versatility may come in handy for us, we're not exactly blessed with few injuries during the course of a season! :)

Yep. Verts can play as a LB but we didn't sign him to play there.

This is our best signing since VDV. Getting the captain of one of the best teams in the world is a major achievement and shows everyone we mean business. Well done Levy you beautiful bald genius.

At a minimum we have A LOT of flexibility along the back line now, especially considering Livermore can fill in at right back.

Not saying Caulker isn't potentially a very good player, but Kaboul is MILES ahead of him at the current time. If all our players were fit and available (assuming Ledley's likely retirement), then Kaboul and Vertonghen are clearly the two best centre-halves at our club.

I'm so chuffed with this signing. He is going to be a top player in my books. This is a real signal of intent and I can see us signing even more top quality younger players now. Well done levy

Thinking about the future, with that post (y)

Is Kaboom fast enough to hold the high-line, how AVB likes it?
