:) he's hunky but not tall enough to be in official hunkdom.

On a semi serious note, I just watched that Verts interview again and I actually think I do fancy him. He's just behind Ginola in my list now, having just overtaken Homer Simpson. Still miles behind Elvis though.

LMAO. You are the only thing that keeps me coming back to SC Sir Bomber! You funny fucker xxxx

You realise 100 pages is just the minimum, right? It's not a case of "We can only sign a big name player when the thread reaches 100 pages", it's a case of "we don't sign big name players until the controversy and 'dragging out' out deals has generated a minimum of 100 pages worth of chat". It's a sign of how deals progress. And this one is relatively average in terms of timescale.

Hence why it's very nearly done and we're almost at the 100 page mark.

It could go longer. :(

Adding this post to speed up the process. Obviously A&C got on the blower to Jan to make sure he rescinded his comments before we hit 100 pages.

From the ESPN article:

The defender, though, continued to answer questions in flawless English and insisted that the fact White Hart Lane will not play host Champions League football next season is not a major issue.

“It is not that big a problem,’’ Vertonghen said. “It would be nice but I chose for the club not just one season. For me it is important the connection with the club. They give me a very good feeling about everything.”

I like this guy more and more (Belgian guys really rate him). This is the sort of attitude we should be trying to bring in to the club, someone committed not just looking for a stepping stone to a "bigger" (richer) club. Looking forward to seeing him next to Kaboul next season.

I'm loving that video too. My main concern was that he was too slow but he can get around. Kaboul is as fast as anyone next to him, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Play the fucker in CM and he could replace Modric. Haha. I joke I joke but the guy has wheels and a nice pass on him. Exactly the sort of player we need. Comfy on the ball, good vision for a CB.

Used to play as a CM until Jol converted him to a CB when he was m,anager of Ajax. Good versatile player - international LB too (although that's partly because Belgium has no LB's but lots of good CB's at present)

That game pretty much sums him up. Strong, quick, composed, good passer, amazing at moving the ball forward (better than Koscielny, who TBF has been one of the best in the PL at doing so this season). He's very very much exactly what we need. Him and Kaboul will be amazing together.

Seems a genuine guy and different from others who only look for stardom and money, wants to play for a team that he feels comfortable in. Hope he signs and is a top player with skills in the same amounts as as his morals. (y) (y) (y)
